As well as not conceding a goal(s), can we also please, PLEASE get through 90 mins without getting a stupid red card?!

I'd sooner have Gordon in midfield than Iwobi.
Just personal preference.
Gordon has an engine on him.
If Iwobi has a bad touch, let it be higher up the field.
Iwobi also has a good pass rate in the penalty box, when compared to Tony.
And good lord DCL needs them put on a plate for him these days.

I know where you are coming from with the history. We have rich history, not just in league titles and cups. But club who founded the football league, going back even further club to have first purpose built stadium, first to have floodlights, first to have under soil heating etc. Proud of our history on and off the field. But myself always look at the present and the future. Don’t forget where we come from and what we have done of course. Me at my age the closet to success that my club has come to is fa cup final defeat to Chelsea in 2009. And if we include all this, then the players should be even more embarrassed if we go down.
Mate, as others have posted elsewhere, we oldies are lucky to remember the great times.

For me 69/70 is my earliest. Then a rubbish and often unlucky period through to 84.

84 to 87 were magic and we were robbed of European Cup in 86 because of that mob. We had probably the best team in Europe at the time and then it broke apart.

We had really worrying times in 94 and 98, but Joe Royle's Dogs of War got us the Cup in 95.

Misery since then, and I was at Wembley in 2009 - I just knew the script would be to sit back after that early goal. We never looked like winning after we scored.

I am really sorry for our younger fans, but please don't take league history as starting with this cash washed PL.

Iwobi just put in the best passing midfield performance we've had since James was last fit, and before that you'd have to go back to like Arteta or something. One bad touch, shocker that it was, shouldn't change his role.

Not that it’ll make much difference but one team sheet has Dobbin on the bench, the other he’s replaced by Welch. Sounds about right for us that one of them got injured pre match ?‍♂️

Spot on BR. I can also recall that brilliant FA Cup win in 1966.

Takes every player a few games to build match fitness, thats the whole point of Pre-season friendlies.....DCL hasn't had that.....criticism of his goals by commentators last weekend was complete BS, likely influenced by agents to drop his price tag for the summer
