Relegation

As encouraged as I, like everyone, will have been at that performance, I find it astounding anyone can say we have no chance of going down/100% going to be fine. Until we pick up the required points we are right in the thick of a relegation scrap.

The 3 home performances, great. The 2 away performances, utterly abject. Yes I think we'll have enough but we're a long long way from thinking we're definitely going to stay up.

Well said. As usual, people can't resist a knee-jerk reaction. Encouraging performance to be sure, but consistency is greatly needed.

Norwich are gone, Brentford are going. Leeds look dodgy, Watford will mess up. Barcodes and Burnley will do enough. We look good again. Still dodgy, but we will stay up (and hopefully win the cup)

The concern I have is our good performances seem to be largely based on the emotion of playing at home, fans being up for it, starting games fast (which don't get me wrong, is great). But it doesn't as yet feel like we have any more discernible tactical nous than we had previously as evidenced by 2 performances of nothingness away from home.

Unless we address this we're almost writing off half our games and we're going to end up dangerously reliant on home form. If we can back today's performance up with a good performance and positive result at Spurs, then maybe something deeper has changed.

My instinct says we'll have enough, and I'm optimistic that with time Lampard can really improve us, but we're in huge trouble still. That is irrefutable.
