Centre forwards should score non penalty goals tbh.
Never knew all his goals were from pennos.
Centre forwards should score non penalty goals tbh.
None of them where rubbish though, neither is DCL he's just average, average peopel should be sold if 60M is being offered, don't you think?
It’s not they don’t count, but it’s pretty standard to look at goals from open play when talking about a players form etc. It’s not moving the goalposts or a deliberate tactic to make him sound worse, it’s just a normal way of discussing his effectiveness. Those darn 0.5 goal penalties.
Rubbish, average. All the same thing anytime we want to sell our best players.
It's a standard blooo response.
Whaaa?? Lukaku’s record speaks for itself mate. Sixty four goals at Inter Milan In two seasons.
Also, you need to read DCL’s letter on his insta account. Lots of nonsense spouted so good to get something straight from him.
Only 7 touches suggests he wasn't passed the ball very often during the game.Immobile averages the same - its an absolute dogs league. One completely overated player is Rom, this "dont laugh at my striker for 7 touches" is cringe worthy.
I wish. He's goals are a lot closer to the goal than the penalty spot. And usually the keeper is out of the way.Centre forwards should score non penalty goals tbh.
Fan base is pathetic sometimes.
He's not average but he's not top drawer either. I think the point being made is that if you get offered a top drawer price for him then it's worth seriously considering, because personally i'm not sure he's in that bracket. I'd happily keep him, I rate him and we're definitely better off with him in the side at the moment, but I can see why it might be a good idea to sell. The other thing is though, we probably wouldn't be replacing him with a 20 goal a season striker, you're right. That doesn't mean it would be a bad move though.Average ?
We have had 3 strikers in the PL era who have scored 20+ goals.in a season and he is one of them. Yakubu did it once. The other was Lukaku who was a level above us and we seem to have lucked out with.
DCL has been injured, rushed back, re injured and is now regaining fitness. Goals will come for him.
Ludicrous to write him off now considering the way we were playing for the last 6 months on top of his injuries.
We aren't signing anyone, even for 60m (which we won't get all at once, and will be needed for other areas such as CB as well) that will be a 20+ goals a season striker. There are generally only 3/4 of them a season, and they are at the top clubs.
Just like with Lukaku, it won't be about the replacement, it was about the money. We could sell him for £60m but who is the replacement?
Another Tosun or Rondon?
Or are we really saying that Simms & Dobbin are ready?
I've backed him from day 1 - vault me on it !Can't cope with our fans going in on Dom because he's had an injury hit season and playing in an awful team.
Fan base is pathetic sometimes.
I see all his critics are out in force - if we lose a striker it will be Rhico to PSG........I wouldn't say he's crap he's alright and English/hyped up so we can av someone off.
Maguire went for £80 millions
Ben White went for £50 millions
A young english striker with a decent goalscoring record in recent seasons can easily fetch £60-70 million if one of the scab 6 come calling.
The fact he only cost us £1.5 million means our FFP problems go overnight + in addition to big earners like Toshun, Siggurdsson, Delph off the books in the summer.
This summer has big potential in terms of recruitment if we get it right and can sell DCL.
