2021/22 Frank Lampard

No one is denying that a couple of good results and everything in the garden is rosy. It certainly isn’t as we wouldn’t be in the position we are in. The squad is still unbalanced and lacks quality. But give Lampard credit, he has put positivity and hope back into the fanbase were a month ago there was none. Like every manager, he needs to build his own team with a vision has how they want to play. For instance a high pressing game led by the front players wouldn’t have Rondon near the squad let alone the team.
We are going to suffer blips along the way, but at least we can see a style of play emerging from within the side.
But do we lack quality. Maybe compared to the top four but with our recent additions are we that short of good players?

For most of this season the squad was threadbare but I think I have mentioned, as have many others the midfield was the big problem. Now we have options there, and very good ones at that, is it that bad? Suddenly one or two players can bind it all together. Not saying we are perfect but think we have enough to make mid-table before the season is out. They certainly look more suited to the new style of play.

You’re just looking at the worst part of Benitez by the end. It wasn’t comparable to the football at the beginning, remember the Docuoure through ball to Gray against Burnley?

Just the same way Ancelotti’s performance against Spurs at the start of that season was absolutely nothing like the 5-0 drubbing by City at the end. See Koeman, Silva and Allardyce for comparisons.

We can claim success after a few games if we want but I don’t back these players do it will take more than them turning up for a few homes games to wipe away five years of cowardly crap.

Lampard seems to know what he’s doing though, hopefully that will extend to the summer when he has to be ruthless and turf these players out.

It's good to see you back a manager. Welcome to our "Back the Manager Club".

It’s conditional backing. The same silver bullet group will be calling for a new manager as soon as Lampard loses a few games in a row.

Yep. Even now they'll be spraying 'FAT FRANK OUT!' on a bedsheet.

Apparently if you backed every previous Everton manager before this one, and want the long term problems at the club resolved, you can’t back Lampard and you’re not a real fan

A new bizzare civil war is forming.

Team Frank

versus

Team Still Hate Benitez and cant get over it and also likes Frank

At a time of unity they are still trying to kill a ghost. Like mad men driven insane after too many days at sea.

Aarruuuuuu
It's alright boys, we can all be friends again. Tonight's a happy night, don't remind us of the bad times.

I know @GrandOldTeam is going to quote me for saying he is a douche of a person for what he did during 9/11 but he seems pretty likable. Long may it last this way. We're not going to keep clean sheets that often, just go balls out trying to attack.

We have said it before there is a difference between our home and away games, just need the crowd like that for all our home games and we will be sound.

I don't expect a win away against Southampton but I will accept one if they don't want it

He's definitely going to make mistakes along the way but he's a manager who seems eager to learn and develop and wants to develop the team too and is in line with modern thinking.

He was the type of appointment we needed after Ancelotti had we not gone for someone like Galtier (who we should have gone all out for)... and the answer was never, ever, the last fella we hired.

We need 4-5 more wins to get out of the mess we're in, let's hope we can get them sooner rather than later

He clearly did his homework before taking the job too and he’s been smart about trying to get the fans back onside and supportive of the players.

I don’t know if that’s down to him. We were at such a low ebb that everyone has been pushing the fans to get behind the team that the crowd was the 12th man today.

Is it all down to him probably not but every time I’ve seen Frank talk he’s mentioned, in a diplomatic manner, how critical getting the fans to be supportive is to the performance of the team. Not rocket science obviously and as you say there are other factors but glad that it has been one of his core messages to date.

'Arry will have schooled him up too; TBF to him, he's always been complimentary about us as a club when we've come up as a subject. At least the times I've seen/heard; recent example below...

I also remember a moment a while back on Sky, but I can't find it.
