I expected him to be intelligent and have good technique, but I'm really surprised at his tenacity. I definitely did not expect him to be competing seriously for headers, and throwing in that many tackles. Early days, but the fella looks like a player.

Thought exactly the same throughout the match. Allan’s level of performance improved playing alongside Donny. But put Doucoure’s energy and athleticism around Donny’s class and composure on the ball then we might finally have a central midfield partnership that can play in a 2. Or if Lampard wants three in midfield 3 in midfield he can.
