Even that expectation is pretty toxic tbh. For a start how is your Dad either getting hurt or arrested going to improve the situation?

Unfortunately some friends of the family are in the process of trying to get their daughter our of a bad relationship and the Dad has a serious heart condition - he doesn’t need societal expectations that he “do something hard” to “fix” things, doing it would likely get him killed.

If he is guilty of this, nobody is touching him. No matter his talent. He will be a convicted rapist and abuser.
He won't be coming back from that.
He has money and will.probs make some investments quick smart to set himself up.for in 5-10 years or so when he gets out. But he is done on a football pitch. As he should be.

I am not saying that he should, or that I support him to return to his career of choice, just that I think he will at some point. Other Footballers have done things before, some even worse than this and returned to Football so it would not be surprising.

You do not need to be of good moral character to be a good Footballer. In the Premier League, representing the big clubs, he would find it very difficult to play again but in another country, I think he could do so.

She very much is.

Its scary tho, we found out later "things" had been going on for a long time, we didnt have a clue, came across as a "decent" lad and it was a battle to extract her from the whole thing, took a few tries............

But as you say, its not always wise, if we found him that 2nd time I am convinced I would be in the middle of a fairly long stretch.
