Maybe chased wasn't the right word. More a general feeling of "ah well, he can go, we'll replace".

People were resigned to him going as we had no chance of keeping him at that point, and we definitely should’ve done a better job of replacing him with the funds we received.

He's turned out to be a pretty good player, but £60m would be too much to turn down.

Some of that would need to be spend on a new recruitment team, though.

No it wouldn’t. If fit and if on pens DCL would get you 20 PL goals a season and that’s exactly what every club aims to have. What we need is more creativity coming from the midfield. If we sold DCL it would be a huge huge mistake. We sold Lukaku and couldn’t find another striker.

Why stop there? If he's never injured and never misses another shot, we could be talking 80 goals.

Your doing what you always do and make up things no one has said.

But in regards to your second point, I'd rather have a striker who scores goals consistently throughout the whole season rather than one who bangs in 70% of his goals in the first part of the season and then doesn't do much for the rest of the season.

The whole team did nothing the second half of the season so maybe that's the issue?
