Only thing I take from this is the board is worried about the idea of Ferguson for the rest of the season. Why oh why aren’t we appointing an interim manager then going all out for a DOF who can lead the search at the end of the season??
Kin’ hate this club so much man
tbf he didn't make a pig's ear of it at all reallyQuality players have already seen lampard make a pigs ear of the Chelsea job

Have you not bought your raffle ticket yet?Is it just me that hasnt got a clue who is actually going to select the manager?
….the Reds don’t like him which is a major plus.
Don’t disagree. I would have thought they would have been happy to hand Ferguson the reins while the strategic review plays out but maybe they have concerns for whatever reason. Can’t be worse than Benitez. He got better results in his 4 game PL spell than the oaf did.
Bloody hell, wish I didnt mindProvided it's not Nuno then I don't really mind.
It worked because he had Jody Morris next to him and it was him who had brought most of those youngsters through, he also was the one who had all the coaching qualifications whereas Lampard didn't (he does now I think) both have gone their separate ways now though. Also I don't think managers/coaches have much say on which players come in at Chelsea by all accounts.tbf he didn't make a pig's ear of it at all really
he came in when they had their transfer ban so he was tasked with getting them CL using the existing squad (obviously a very good squad) and use youngsters and he did that.
Obviously then he was backed and Chelsea probably just brought in one player too many to play a similar role and that upped the pressure, obviously.
He wouldn't be my pick but he didn't do an awful job with Chelsea.
No doubt, having the right back room staff is essential for most managers. There's no way Rooney can take the full credit for getting Derby back on their feet this season. Same when Lampard almost got them promoted. I just see Lampard having a bit more about him than Rooney from a coaching point of view. His dad and uncle were both decent coaches in their day.
