Fun fact I have just learned.

Carlo ancelotti was succeeded at real Madrid by Rafael benitez.

Fast forward to last summer and ancelotti leaves us , replaced by Rafael benitez.

Both times benitez was sacked the following January

At least it's something we have in common with Real Madrid. Moshiri will be delighted.

Makes a good point. End of the day you give a manager like Benitez the benefit to turn it around cos that's they type of manager his is, stubborn.

IMO a manager change isn't gonna be a quick fix for this club, we are 1-2 key injuries away from being relegated.

That being said the fans would backed him if he got results y'know just like every other manager or any other coach in any professional sport.

The whole never-Rafael thing was pretty much the media begging us to hate his guts as a storyline. Truth is Bobby got a lot more from the fans when things went bad.

We gave him a chance, he kept on starting Rondon. He lost his job.

Not really. He was backed in the ground regardless of whether people didn't want him at the point of hire. But he was given support at the match.

Name me another manager who had death threats placed on banners near his house, spray painted on walls, banners hung up around the stadium and training grounds. The sheer amount of abuse he got from fans who were willingly wanting us to lose every week. Got next to nothing to spend in the summer. Etc etc.
