Why? He only plays 2 in midfield and we have loads of midfielders already.

They are. We know this. Apart from a small handful who haven’t been available for chunks of the season.

You don’t coach international players how to pass, control and stay concentrated. You may coach them new systems but it is difficult to do in a short time with players unable to meet the demands of the system you choose.

So you think Pickford, Godfrey, Digne, Doucoure, Allan, Gray, Gordon, Richarlison and DCL are abjectly useless?
I'll give you Iwobi, and I'd question Delphs mentality, and maybe Gbamin is toast and Davies may not have what it takes, but there's a good spine of players there and if Benitez cant get a tune out of them, that's on him.

Same squad won't fair the same when all others have improved.

So to answer your question yes it is doing worse but ONE of the reasons being we have stood still whilst others are arguably better.

It's still hard to judge when we haven't been able to play the same players though (DCL, Gylfi, Mina) for long periods.

Complete whattaboutery - we are worse on the pitch, end of story. Ancelotti handled injuries better than Benitez

Moshiri only appoints ex PL experienced managers mate so without a DOF in his ear someone like Kovac is automatically out of the picture.

Throw in our budget issues and not many top level managers will be looking to join a club sat 15th in the table that needs to force their LB out to be able to sign 2-3 players.

Just because he has only appointed former PL managers before does not mean that he will only hire those with PL experience.

This is just you sticking an arbitrary requirement into the mix so you can handwave away any other suggestions for his replacement and then throw out your strawman argument of Potter, Howe, NES, or Dyche and claim that Benitez is worth sticking with instead of them.

Despite his past successes I’ve never wanted Mourinho at Everton because of the aggro he creates off pitch with the players.

Benitez seems the same with creating needless drama and blaming players in public - just not a style I can warm to in any way even when the results/performances are good let alone when this dross is what being served up

Would love Mourinho at Everton, wins trophies, would have won one at Spurs but got sacked the week before a cup final which was rediculous.

Because our current manager is useless and has no idea how to play in the modern era.

that needs to force their LB out to be able to sign 2-3 players.

and, again, because our current manager is useless and doesn't like people saying "your system doesn't work, can we please change it" so he forces out yet another player that is far better than most of the rest of our squad.
