Totally agree - we are irrelevant in footballing terms and have been for some time. Probably more so after flushing that half a billion quid down the toilet.
Couldn't tell you who Benitez will pick - prob depends on who hasn't fell out with him that week.

Benitez, like Ancelotti before him, stumbled on / was left no alternative, etc, on to a formation and 11 that sorta worked.
I asked will he...seen as it worked...stick with it, run with it, possible fine tune it etc - or revert to type.
We have our answer - Revert...this is the guy who my rs bro in law tells me, once played a very good, box to box goalscoring midfielder...Slippy...at R B.
The biggest problem(s?)...apart from him himself...wasn't the 2 RBs, Coleman was not much worse than the recent off form Digne...even if he did, at times, look a bit lost.
It was right down the middle;
DCL, will obvs need games in his legs...But he, like Richo and da do Rondon are Isolated
2 in MF will mostly get over run.

Its wild how a massive amount of us called how this would end early in Benny reign, yet still the owner doesnt seem to get it, even after the team breaking all the wrong kinds of records. Worst this, worst that, lost to teams at home we’ve never lost to before. Solution: keep the fraud in charge.

Positives for me are:
Signing Gray + Mykolenko and possibly Patterson.
If he can bring in a defensive midfielder in the same profile and move 5 or 6 players on this window then thats something positive on the recruitment side.
Formations, performances and results are mind blowing but if he can show he can bring in high potential quality and get players out the door...
...could be a decent DOF.
Just need the right manager to come in.
For me its Amorim or Gallardo...Potter 3rd choice but the list is huge.
