Of course there were goood footballers, there is no denying it. The point is that for all sorts of reasons, fitness and technique have improved through knowledge, understanding and technique. The PL is a far higher standard than the old Division One. It has the pick of world players. Even teams in tgd bottom half are stuffed with internationals.

The league pays eye watering salaries and has performance services to match.
Yes but I mean there are internationals and internationals, look at our own squad. Keane, Iwobi, Rondon and Townsend are all internationals, however, top draw players, not really. I think it is like comparing apples and oranges and you can’t really say one era was better than the other, they were just different. I’ll tell you what though, it was a much better game to watch back then.

Anyway back on topic, DCL smashing player, seems a very decent lad as well, I’m concerned about his injury though. For a player of his age to have suffered a serious ‘big muscle’ injury is a worry, especially when his game is all about pace and power. His comeback must be handled carefully, we’ve seen too many players rushed back after injury at the club.

I think if Dom ever moves, someone like city would be perfect for him, don't want him to anywhere though, we need to keep hold of our good player's and try to offload the ones who although fit are a bit brainless on the pitch. Imagine Dom with real fooballers around him, I think people would then see how good the lad is.

Probably the only way for Dom to prove his progress is in the international team. The only way he can do that is with a club of the stature of, say, Citee.
I mean, could you imagine the red infested media giving him the leeway they have given Kane for his recent form for Engurlund. Not a chance, they would have crucified him, so only the protection he would get is if he was in one of the Scab Six teams.
Sad as the reality is, we are no longer near any of these vile monsters.

But didn't Kane just score 12 including 6 pens against a team of Alpine mountain climbers for Engurrland? Surely that gives him a free pass with the media!
