I'm not defending Benitez so I don't get your point.

I don't understand the hype around Potter though.

Is there actualy any hype around potter?
His approach and style of football has been noticed. Im just just not sure when it got to the level of hype. I actualy dont think it did/has and is more in some peoples head.

He is a very modern method progressive training ground type coach, a stat boys wet dream. His teams create a ridiculous amount of chances (even as much as City) and also manage to balance defending whilst keeping good possession of the ball. the issue with Brighton is they don't have anyone who can stick it in the back of the net on a regular basis and they don't really have the funds to go and buy a 20 goal a season striker.

I think there is loads of Hype especially in the summer when the Spurs and Everton job came up.

Fair enough. cant argue with that response.

Your thoughts on him with us?

They want a silver bullet manager. A manager who will have this group of players playing brilliant football, getting brilliant results, and in the background he’s fixed all the problems at the club that have led to 5 other managers not being able to play brilliant football or get brilliant results.

Some people don’t seem to realise the logical fallacy of that. The problems haven’t gone away, any new manager we take on board will still have them. They’re not going to get good results for exactly the same reason Koeman Silva Allardyce Ancelotti and Benitez couldn’t get them, and they’re going to be left trying to fix them.

So we have an option of paying a load of cash to replace Benitez and let him fix it

Or we just let Benitez get on with fixing it.

That’s the macro view. There’s far too much knee jerking about embarrassing results ‘omg even Palace beat us’. So what, they beat City the other week as well. ‘It’s one win in ten’, is irrelevant if you think that we won’t be down in trouble at the end of the season which I don’t.

The changes needed at the club are big ones and will take time. Bringing up short term ‘travesties’ as a rationale for firing the manager just doesn’t seem helpful to me for fixing Everton in the long term, but this is a forum so each to their own.
I'd take 'playing decent football and getting decent results'
and a manager that doesn't add to all the problems at the club

Potter wouldn`t last two seconds here.

He was moaning about the fans booing the team a couple of games ago .

He`s also a bit odd too.

He`s one of those that you can`t really put your finger on, but if you had a teenager daughter and you were at a do with him, you`d keep a close eye on your daughter.

Yes he did. And I assume the 4/5 players you’re talking about are the very same you wish for us to sell
I think the run of injuries has made it impossible to judge the manager objectively.

He may be doing well in the circumstances or he may be doing badly and this is being masked by his injuries but until he signs some players and others return from injury then we won't really know and I feel until then he won't be judged.

There is also so much happening at the club in the background involving the manager that we supporters will not know about and certainly that will create an impression on any decision being made by those in charge.
