I was just in the midst of writing a big paragraph about how much I like Jimenez before he got the most stupid red card of the season. And I've not even sank a bottle of red.

I have to admit I was really enjoying his 'histrionics' as the BT commentary was putting it. I don't know why they don't just have a laugh and instead get all pissy about it.

It's a fruity little Portuguese number, Rabo de Gallo, the Bernado Silva of wines; highly recommended. I really like Jimenez, not least for his return from that injury, he's a proper number nine with technique and vision to complement his game.

I think it's one of those, a ref who is in control of the game and not coming under pressure for the run of cards against the home side just waves it away and has the free kick re-taken.

Final point, before the whole sending off came about I was remarking to Mrs. BT how much I dislike City's joylessness, they have all the money, all the resources and all the favours but still whine about every little thing. Rodri has every right to ask for the free kick to be retaken, but you sense they are angling to get their opponent sent off.

The Slovak tv channel who broadcast the games here are essentially the Central European arm of RS propaganda. Most weeks they just run slow mo highlights of Skrtel crunching into hapless opponents.

Today, genuine bewilderment at ref's performance.
