2021/22 Yerry Mina

There was an article yesterday that was saying Benitez tried to rush DCL back but Donnachie refused so got sacked, I wonder if the same has happened here. If he is trying to rush players back before they are actually fit then that's just downright dangerous imo.
I am no Benitez fan far from it but I am sure it was said he actually held Mina back a few weeks to make sure his hamstring was ok and within half an hour he does his calf, sometimes you just have players who are injury prone.

I have not heard anything about contract talks with him about a new contract.
In twelve months time he will be able to sign an agreement with a new club and leave for nothing shortly after.

He needs to sign a new contract or be sold and that could happen in January.

….I’d hope he was worth a bit more than that but I suppose his injury record and contract situation are factors.
I’d bite their hands off for that very reason, then sit back and smirk when he goes missing every week.

I said in the transfer thread that Id take that. You cant risk him getting a major injury with only 18months on his deal.

In fact, if Digne was also moved on and with Coleman having 18months left + Nkounkou perhaps unfavoured...

...that leaves Keane, Holgate and Branthwaite as our remaining 'long term' defenders.

Could Mina leaving be a catalyst for change?
