Marcel Brands

Agreed but that's not the only thing needed. It would be nice to know just who is in charge of transfers for a start. Is it brands? Is it benitez or is it moshiri? Or some weird hybrid of these? Cos I'll be honest with you I don't know and I don't think many others do either.
No one knows tbh.
James and Allan clearly Ancelotti players
Godfrey brands signing
Townsend, Grey Rondon Benitez signing

That just leads to no accountability anywhere then doesn't it. It's just really poor to have what appears to be no structure within the club for something as important as player recruitment.

I wonder whether brands making his comments to a fan of do you think its just the players has been the catalyst for kenwright to kick up a stink. Wouldn't surprise me if they use this comment as a reason to get rid rather than incompetence in the transfer market and call it gross misconduct so they can weasel out of a contract settlement.

We desperately need to get rid of the DOF structure and give the manager more autonomy, be it Benitez or whoever. Like many have said in this thread, Brands' role is completely redundant at the moment.

We currently have three forces all pulling in different directions. Moshiri needs to let go of this big name 'Hollywood name' mindset and step back from football decisions. Brands either gets to pick the manager or he leaves and Benitez/other needs total control of recruitment, playing style and the funds to implement it.

Of course, any progress is completely stymied until 90% of this squad are moved on.

…but I think the Manager at Everton has autonomy. We know he acquires his own players, we know he has the final say on all transfers, we know team tactics and selection are down to him.

Not sure what Brands actually does.

I would sack him for buying iwobi and not a right back .

Whoever sanctioned the signing of Iwob’s should be cased in concrete and dumped in the middle of the Irish Sea.

Even a football novice like me knew he was crap.

The Arsenal fans couldn’t believe we bought him, never mind the £35m fee.

The extension of Michael Keanes contracts is what makes my wee wee boil.

Firing offence that, and he was actually sellable when we renewed.
