He`s not realistic about where Rondon is at though is he, otherwise he wouldn`t be anywhere near the team.

And I don`t except that we have no other options, as we do.

Out of all the options we have currently fit in the central striking department I’d probably rather start Rondon than Tosun Simms or Dobbin. Tosun and Simms are just back from injury, Dobbin has also been injured recently. Simms is a complete unknown quantity in the premier league, no one knows what sort of quality he’s showing in training. Benitez even said it himself, Gordon is physically and mentally ready to play (and even he’s been massacred on here at times).

Rondon’s poor form has been massively over exaggerated and used as a lightning rod to beat Benitez with. He wouldn’t even be playing if DCL or Richarlison were available and yet people are treating his selection like he’s Benitez’s son or something.

It’s become clear as day in recent exchanges that some on here don’t have the first understanding of football. Just stick Davies and Siggurdson in the middle for yet another season and fire a few more managers until we find the one who will tell them ‘just have a go lads’. Then we’ll be sweeping City away at the Etihad. Utterly clueless.

It's not lost on anyone how you slated Ancelotti for not being good enough, that form with Doucoure missing included, but now you're willing to use Doucoure as an excuse for why Benitez can't win a game.

Just to emphasize how crap Benitez has made our defence compared to Ancelotti, we only got beat by more than 2 goals once last year on the final day when everyone gave up against City and we lost 5-0.

Under Benitez it has happened 3 times in 12 games.

We are pissing goals under him and don't look capable of scoring. A counter attack team that leaks goals and has no ideas going forward is on a hiding to nothing.

1 win in 8 with the luxury of having had both DCL and Richarlison fit for most if not all of those games iirc - Benitez has 1 win in 9 with DCL, Mina and also having had Richy out for a number of them and people want him tarred and feathered.

To the folks who want him sacked, where does FFP come in your thinking? As we'll have to spunk x amount on yet another manager pay off. Considering we're in the red already.

We should have plenty in the bank since Benitez chased out one of our best players in James Rodriguez.

It was nice of him to foresee the need for funds for his pay off and secure them by ridding of us of our most creative player.
