If he selects Rondon and he performs at the same level we've seen, then the manager has to take full responsibility. There is no one else that can be blamed.

The choice is to blood a young player or stick with the underperforming senior player. At some point you have to roll the dice and give someone a chance. It might well not work, but at least you are trying to build something for down the line. Losing with senior players achieves nothing except creating resentment a feeling that there is no pathway to the first team.
Rondon has contributed 1 shot on target and won us one corner in 7-8 games and probably ran about 2km combined! If Simms can’t contribute more than then why are we giving him a 3 year deal?

Imagine if he has drilled the back four into being a solid defensive unit ?

Imagine if he allows Digne to attack

Imagine if he lets the midfield harry and tackle rather than standing off three yards

Imagine if he goes with young players and not Rondon and Iwobi

Imagine....3 2 1 youre back in the room.

When did Ellis Simms become Edison Cavani?

This kids just come back from a bad injury and was playing in League One last season.

Im not saying Toshun or Rondon are the answer but again some fans are crying over very limited options available to the manager.

Its not like Utd fans moaning that Rashford and Sancho should be selected over Greenwood and Martial is it...
Mate he could be a dug up Thomas Edison to contribute more than that mess. The position Simms is in now is he doesn’t have to anything other than a very very very average footballer to improve us 10 fold

Simms
Dobbin
Gordon

If only our club knew we had these future ballon d'or winners being overlooked by every EFC manager they would hit the roof I tells ya!
Mate, Rondon moves like he's had a stroke and contributed nothing in the games he's played.

Tosun I don't need to say a word. You honestly don't think the young ones wouldn't give more effort than those two wage thieves?

Get a load of this nonsense

"Some of them will need more time. If you have top class players, like Rooney at 17 years old he could play. There are not too many. Raul at Madrid could play, but there are not too many.

"Some people say we have to give them an opportunity. Yeah but 'young' players doesn't mean 'good' players. They're young players.

"Some of them will need more time than others."

Not surprising you don't want our young lads to do well really is it.

They have to prove it in training and if they aint doing it they dont get selected.

No other club fanbase cries about selecting fringe youth players as much as we do its embarassing.

Gordon is an attacking wide player who is yet to score (or even assist iirc) yet he is raved about like he's Sterling because his name isn't Iwobi.

Dobbin and Simms should be out on loan learning their trade and developing like every other club does with their better academy players yet we demand them playing even if they are nowhere near ready for the PL.

He hasn't become Edison Cavani.

But we've seen Rondon play, he's horrendous, and Tosun is just back from his third serious knee injury in as many years, hasn't played for us since January and the club have tried to sell him since January 2019.

I would usually agree with all of this

Except when the performances of the senior player have been so dreadful. It's an absolutely appalling message to any young player at the club if Rondon is given the start on Sunday. You either pick a side on merit or you pick on reputation and past performance.

....and Rondon IS ready for the PL?

If Rondon is crap and gets dogs abuse he can take it - he's a grown bloke who's experienced and been through that.

If Dobbin is absolutely crap and part of a team that gets roundly boo'ed off the pitch even if the boo's aint aimed at him personally that shatters the young kids confidence.

Thats why these players go out on loan to lower level teams - to learn, develop you dont throw them into a CL final or into a struggling team desperate for points with an already riled up fanbase.
