Good to have Digne back, hopefully Delph and Alan will sit deep and help Godfry and Keane. Andros to score a worldie against his former employers and spurs to be tired from their midweek game. COYB's

Have you seen Davies in the Watford match? He was the catalyst for at least 2 of their goals. He is better in attack compared to his defence but he is not good enough at either at this level.
Yes, I did. That was at the end of the game when the team was crying out for our manager to bring on another midfielder after Ranieri had made the change. It was also in a game that Davies was tasked with doing what Doucoure does, because our manager didn't change the system.

Davies is not, and never will be, a box-to-box midfielder. I watched him last season, playing as a 6, and he is fine in that role. Not great, but he does the job. And that's what you need in a flat three when you're missing your best midfielder who happens to be the player that makes the system work.

If it's Townsend dropping into midfield today then he at least gives us legs and an ability to carry the ball.

I’d have been happier going with three in midfield. I can see Spurs walking through Allan and Delph, even Tommy D in there would give us a bit more chance of breaking up Spurs play. Still Spurs are as big a mess as we are and although Conte is a far superior manager to Benitez, I feel it’s still a bit early for him to have had too much of an effect on Spurs.

Hoping for 3 points here and at least a draw at Brentford, because I think points are going to be difficult for us to collect from there on in.

Let's see an energetic start and roaring encouragement from the stands. Everton win ugly by one.

If Mina was fit I would have moved Godfrey to right back. As for the line up pretty much how I see it other than I would have played Holgate at Right back in place of Seamus.

It'll be three in midfield, same as the second half against Wolves. Delph deep, Allan and Townsend in front of him with licence to press. FWIW, it's the team I thought he should pick.

If Delph is his usual self, he'll look promising 1-2 games, then revert to laziness and trying the Billy Big B*llocks act, then get injured for six months.
Our backup options aren’t great in midfield. Gbamin, Davies, Gomes all poor options most of the time. Delph is the best of those imo, but like you said, it’ll probably only last for a couple of games. Hopefully he helps us to a win today, we’ve had enough passengers already this season, with Rondon and Iwobi!

Some chat about the starting 11, but seriously would we want many from the bench starting?
I guess there will be very few and the majority will be keeping fingers crossed nobody gets injured.
