I suppose I'd like to see it as a proper 4-3-3. I just think Allan is better being able to go and hassle and press. Delph in there is fine - for today like given our options - but just feel we need numerical superiority in that part of the pitch. People scream and shout about heart and desire and attitude and yes, it's a problem, but our problem the other day was a non-existent midfield, just as it was against Watford, and our manager has kept the same system, again.
Let's agree to disagree on that one.
...homesickness.Holgate was horrific might as well put Me in as Holgate, at least I'd have an excuse for not putting in a good performance.. I'm nearly 40, unfit and haven't played football in about 8 years, what's his excuse for being rubbish?
We don't know for sure that it couldn't because he hasn't tried it. I'm not saying it's good enough to last the season, but he absolutely should have used it in those last two games.I'd like to see a 4-3-3 if we had midfielders to make it work. We unfortunately don't, so there's a grand canyon between midfield and attack while, hilariously, a similar sized one between defence and midfield whenever we try.
Any three of Gbamin/Allan/Davies/Delph/Gomes are simply not good enough to stop being bypassed by any half decent team. All of them - with the possible exception of Allan but even he isn't infallible by any means - need replacing if we have any ambition whatsoever.
Until then, 'we go with what we've got', and in the absence of Calvert-Lewin to hold the ball up it means playing a number 10/shadow striker to bridge that canyon.
Don’t blame himone thing is certain, Benitez don't rate Davies.
Spurs have options from the bench if they need to change it. There's nobody on our bench I believe is capable of changing this game if it's going wrong.
