Just shows that the manager does not rate all of them gbamin davies and holgate. Thought go with 4 cm but happy gordon is in instead of iwobi

I suppose I'd like to see it as a proper 4-3-3. I just think Allan is better being able to go and hassle and press. Delph in there is fine - for today like given our options - but just feel we need numerical superiority in that part of the pitch. People scream and shout about heart and desire and attitude and yes, it's a problem, but our problem the other day was a non-existent midfield, just as it was against Watford, and our manager has kept the same system, again.

I'd like to see a 4-3-3 if we had midfielders to make it work. We unfortunately don't, so there's a grand canyon between midfield and attack while, hilariously, a similar sized one between defence and midfield whenever we try.

Any three of Gbamin/Allan/Davies/Delph/Gomes are simply not good enough to stop being bypassed by any half decent team. All of them - with the possible exception of Allan but even he isn't infallible by any means - need replacing if we have any ambition whatsoever.

Until then, 'we go with what we've got', and in the absence of Calvert-Lewin to hold the ball up it means playing a number 10/shadow striker to bridge that canyon.

Let's agree to disagree on that one.

They play in midfield.

Personally I'd have gone Davies. Because he is fine if his sole job is to sit in front of the back four. Have him in the middle of a flat three, Delph left side to open the passing lanes and Allan right side to run about. Then you have Gordon/Townsend/Gray on the bench to have an actual threat to bring on.

If we start against these like the first half at Wolves, the optimists might need to sit down!
It's going to be a tough day and a tough few weeks until we start getting players back.
The players we have left are simply not good enough, bar a couple of exceptions.

COYB!

We don't know for sure that it couldn't because he hasn't tried it. I'm not saying it's good enough to last the season, but he absolutely should have used it in those last two games.

I see a lot of average teams shade midfield battles by numbers alone. Luckily, Spurs have only gone two in midfield today too and they're hardly the most mobile either, albeit more mobile than our lot.

Bloody hell look at the state of that bench. I wouldn’t want to inflict the pain of dealing with this team on another manager.

I have just had an operation after contracting sepsis in the knee and have a DVT running from my knee down to my ankle.
I told the surgeon I still offer more of a goal threat than Rondon!

Can't argue with that side given what's available to him.
Plenty of attacking potential to hit them with on the break.
Need the players to show up today. No half hearted or low confidence nonsense

Would be tenpted to give Branthwaite a shot at cb in minas absence. Other than that cant moan too much. Our squad is not well balanced at all.

That’s pretty much the team I was hoping to see start. Hopefully we manage to put a few passes together, don’t give away stupid goals and provide a threat to Spurs. I can’t believe i’m happy to see Delph start, but he looked the most composed midfielder we have, and hopefully we can keep the ball a lot better with this side. We’ll see soon enough. COYB
