ECHO Comment: "Fears of Witch-hunt Against Liverpool FC" part 3

They won a champions league 3 years ago and the league 2. They are one of the best teams in Europe. To not admit that is you doing what you do best . Chatting absolute wham to try and act like you know it All
Yep granted they are good, we can see that- but still no one ever gets their share of good fortune. You only have to look at the Rankings in the 2 CL seasons they reached the final/won. They fluked their way from Pot 3 as 22nd best team on Rankings) into a group with lowest ranked opponents from each of the other Pots (Sevilla, Some farmers from Slovenia) and scraped out of the group stage and got an easy ride to the final in the first season before Ramos and Bale sorted them out. Then they miracled their way into Pot 2 thanks to about 5 underdog wins by other teams in the qualifiers and followed it up with a load of teams falling apart (I'll give them the Barca 4-0 comeback).. Spurs!! Yeah right, lads, It's Spurs, and, if they needed it, a gift of a penalty in the 2nd minute that only they would be awarded thanks to a fluke armball that "hit the hand". Not only was it scarcely a penalty but how many of those get given in the opening moments?

And, just for good measure, who could forget Gerrard's Tom Daley impression that helped them scrape into the next stage, the dubious peno in the comeback in 2005, The Ghost Goal v Chelsea. The Rule Changes for 2006.

So when one little "slip" comes along it's barely compensation for all their good luck and kind refereeing calls.

At least they've had injuries to the pensioner Milner and the hopeless Keita. Milner is a hamstring so he'll be out for a little while, so let's hope that the Echo will be having a Book Of Remembrance for Keita as well. He may be useless, but every body down is a bonus as they get closer and closer to having to rely on Oxlade Chamberlain ... We can only pray that Agent Pickford has his Salah Orders for the derby...

Being honest HB, they certainly haven’t looked to have the best first 11 in the 2 games we’ve seen against Chelsea and City at Anfield this year.

The officials may have seen to it that they scraped out of both home games with relatively respectable draws but the reality of what we seen was that the other 2 looked way ahead of them.

The City game against them would have been stopped at half time if it was a boxing game. They're miles off them.

They may not be as good as City and Chelsea but you don't have to be. Man United won a few leagues by beating everybody else and then drawing or losing to the other Champions League teams. It's consistency that wins you the league, not just being one of the best teams.

You're talking about one half of a football match though. It's not as though they have to play City every week. Ole's United have played Pep's City off the park a couple of times in recent years, doesn't make them better than Man City. We're only a quarter of the way through the season, plenty of time for all sides to improve, or regress. They were nailed on to win the league last season at the end of November but eventually only just scraped into the top 4. Can't really see them losing too many games this season, & as much as I hate to say it, they'll be there, or thereabouts, come May.

Evertonians petrified of that lot. Unreal. Last season underlined how pony they are.

They have played at the maximum of their level in the first 9 games of the season. They're still behind in the league. City and Chelsea squads are deeper and have more quality.

Was the worst ever from United yesterday a pathetic shambolic performance yes the victims are a good team with a good manager but we were absolute garbage and some shocking performances with Maguire and Shaw were absolute disgrace and basic defending was gone at the game , i would not judge the victims on that nonsense yesterday at Old Trafford Brentford give them a harder game , United were a disgrace and the fans are very angry

Not being petrified but being real.
Write them off all you want. They're getting better and better in my eyes. 5-0 at Old Trafford is a statement win and will boost confidence.
Only team yet to lose in the league.

Last season, after all the injuries, they ended very strong.

I still feel City are favourites. Chelsea... I don't know...

Funny how Klopp manages to swerve the usual gibberish he comes out with in his press quotes when it comes to extolling the virtues of his brood. If Im not mistaken, it wasnt too long ago that Firmino's crown had slipped so much that he was only bench material, transfer talk was hinted at and their fickle ranks had turned.
Klopp waxed lyrical about "the best offensive defender I ever saw in my life" (the usual RS child-like hyperbole)..."Im pretty sure when he finishes playing, people will write books about the way he interpreted the false nine position. I dont say he invented it or we invented it, but with the way he plays it, from time to time it looks like."

What?

They put 5 past a team who put 5 past us. They put 5 past a team that we could only draw with.

Based on current form, 5 past us is an understatement

His latest soundbite for the commercial team to put on a T-shirt. Salah is the best in the world and Firmino invented the False 9. He’s a corporate mouthpiece.

Had a rare nose at one of their sites (forgive me and it's not that rawk btw) and it's absolutely chock-full of stuff having a go at us and United.

Infact their was so many posts screenshotted off this site I actually thought I was still on GOT!
This …. They d had a great win yesterday but they can’t just celebrate that.. they would rather talk about us or United or Chelsea or city…. Strange bunch they are

Getting this out in the open from the outset!
I have a grudging admiration for their team and how it's performing. I've said many times I've accepted they do what they do, and we do what we do.
But once again their insufferable celebrity fan base on the media is getting up my japs eye. As an example first voice I heard this morning was Colin Murray interspersing what he's paid to do with all things RS. Now as I type this another psycophant none other than DJ Spoony hosting Radio 2 talking wham about them. Just wtf?
