At the moment, he probably is.
Sky are wank, though.
If he truly was, he wouldn’t be at Liverpool. That’s the truth of it really. PSG, Madrid, City, Bayern have all spent money on attackers and none have gone for him. If PSG wanted him they’d have paid the money but instead they’ve emptied their wallets to get Messi and keep Mbappe for another season. If Salah was the best in the world why would they not have taken Madrid’s money for Mbappe and bought Salah? Or why would Madrid not just be using that money to buy Salah instead of Mbappe?
The answer is that he’s not, he’s just a very good forward who scored a good goal at the weekend and the RS media machine went into ridiculous overdrive.
If there was a poll of worldwide fans dream front three for their team there’d be a lot of people selecting Haaland, Mbappe, Neymar, Messi, Ronaldo, Lewandowski, Kane. Salah would be selected in some non Liverpool fan’s teams, but not in most of them, and if he’s the best player in the world why wouldn’t he be in the majority of teams?
I’d put a player like Son as extremely close to Salah as a wide forward who is very good and scores a lot of goals. Yet Son is never spoken about in the same circles as Salah Firmino or Mane. No one would say Sterling is up there despite his goal numbers being incredible season after season for a wide player. Even Hazard at his peak at Chelsea wasn’t being discussed this way even though I could find three goals of his off the top of my head that are all better than the one Salah scored. Yet when Coutinho had a purple patch under Klopp the media was asking whether Messi should make way for him at Barcelona.
It’s just nonsense click bait rubbish from a RS infested sports media.
Allison isn’t the best keeper in the world (he’s not even the best in Brazil)
Alexander Arnold isn’t the best RB (he almost didn’t make the England squad and isn’t first or second choice and struggles with defending)
Van Dijon has never been the best centre back in the prem, or the world, or of all time (I’m not even sure he’s ever been the best at Liverpool even)
Robertson is a very good left back but no other top CL team would have him in their team
Fabinho isn’t the best holding mid in the world and was playing utility right back for Brazil behind Casemiro in his position.
Thiago isn’t the best creative mix in the world like they reported when he signed. He can’t get in the Spain team and wouldn’t be in Liverpool’s first team now
None of the front three are the best in the world at anything.
They’ve got very good players and are a very good team but the media peddle a co start deluge of absolute guff about their players that just isn’t true.
