Al-Ahli host the Fierce of Al Raayan this Saturday, October 2nd at 7:15pm Arabian Standard Time (4:15pm GMT, 12:15pm EST, 9:15am PST) or Sunday, October 3rd at 2:15am for the many al Raayan supporters in Sydney, Australia. This match will, of course, be played at the Hamad bin Khalifa Stadium.
Al-Ahli SC (not to be confused with al-Ahli Saudi FC), founded in 1950, are the oldest club in Qatari football.
Despite this illustrious history, Al Ameed (Brigadier) have never won the league. Interestingly, they played a friendly against Santos in 1973.
Al-Alhi hold the league record for attendance when they packed an astounding 10,142 fans on the final match day of 2014. They are an inspiration.
Last year, al-Ahli finished fifth in the league, two places below our beloved Lions. Last year's match was a 1-1 draw.
Currently, al-Ahli are seventh in the league while al Raayan are eighth.
Al-Ahli have a potent attacking trio; having scored a total of one goal in their first four matches.
Should be a hard-fought three points.
Up the Fierce!
