ECHO Comment: "Fears of Witch-hunt Against Liverpool FC" part 3

Strap yourselves in boys and girls - it's clear Satan's back in bed with them after that amazing 3-0 victory against all odds today.

Prophet angry citrus has called it wrong it would seem.

How palace didn't get a pen from the lad who works in the kebab shops challenge on benteke is just mind boggling - changes the entire match, just mental. Like the tackle on Richy Vs Burnley and the gray non-decision today which were both a joke - the vermin would have got those calls all day, every day.
Incredible with VAR in place that that pen isn't given, not so incredible that MOTD never even mentioned it

I mean we dont have to do anything. But when evaluating performance it's certainly worth considering isnt it? We are all bias about our teams performance, so taking player outside of that context seems to make sense. If a player is so good, it might be worth asking why he gets the run around against footballing heavyweights like Aleksei Ianov and Russia.

Conversely if a play wins international trophies, I'd suggest it's quite a good indicator that player is good. Not perfect of course, but a worthwhile indicator.

I'll just add this, for a guy who seems to resent making combined 11s, you do seem to be doing a lot of it over the last few days. Maybe it's best just to say you have no opinion on the matter if you dont think they have validity 4/5/6 games in?

Politely though, you seem to make some quite spurious comments on the topic, then get challenged, then say you dont want to talk about it. It may be best just not to mention it in the 1st instance?
So by your reasoning George Weah wasn't that good because he played for tiny Liberia and some defender from the mighty multi winning African cup of nation champions Cameroon had him in his back pocket, and the opposite #9 Cameroon striker who played for AEK Athens was better than George Weah because he won international trophies is pretty much the gist of it.

Bizarre.

Why do you block posts you've made so that it's limited to what people can see?

No my reasoning is that you need to factor in the entire work of a football player when you evaluate them.

I mean, comparing George Weah to Andy Robertson is also a tad strange as well.

If you cant grasp that evaluating all performances of a football player, when making a judgement on their capabilities, then you're not massively bright and probably beyond help.

Godfrey and Mina as well.

Was absurd doing Merseyside 11's after 4 games.

Godfrey and Mina (and Digne for that matter) dont become bad players in one game though do they?

And why is it absurd to have a discussion topic 4 games (the season is 5 games in at that point)?

Had Matip swapped for Mina today, I doubt much changes. If he played out of position like Godfrey did, he probably gets far more exposed than even Godfrey did, as he is extremely slow and unable to turn.

But yes, as you say it's a bit odd making such comparisons, except when you use one game as evidence to make an assertion. When Robertson is in the squad of the world champions on the international level, he can have a claim to be superior to Digne. All the while he gets given the run around by part timers from Israel or Cyprus or whoever else turn them over, I'll reserve judgement.

I started this and my 11 was based on form over the last year. I just choose to put it on this forum a few days ago.

I think you're fair enough to put whatever you want in the forum mate. My point was more that @EverTheOptimist seems to have a schrodingeresque relationship to this concept, on the one hand bemoaning their existence when his rather dubious summation are challenged but on the other willingly posting about them on a regular basis. I can see it reasonable to hold one position, but it would be highly hypocritical to hold both views simultaneously. The reds make me laugh in how they tie themselves up with their lack of logic!

As for the 2nd part, it's a shame he has mis represented what you have done. It seems as if the only person who is making a comparison after 4/5/6 games is him, as you have said it's based over he course of a year. He seems to be attacking a straw man that doesnt otherwise exist, beyond him introducing it.

But yes, post what you like mate. You dont need my position. As indicated above, the point to him was if he is so against having joint 11s being discussed, why engage in the discussion, and subsequently attempt to frame said discussion in a manner that you also claim is pointless? You're just making yourself unhappy.

Its akin to saying you hate village fates, and then spending all Saturday afternoon at the village fate to tell everyone this. Any rational person would just go and do something they enjoy instead. But Kopitism is nothing but a strange mindset, that essentially leads to perform the role of the village idiot who's role it is to generally annoy everyone else, and make out you're so much better than everyone else. Nobody else believes it of course, but in your head it starts to make sense.

He seems so defensive of all their players. He never reads posts properly. I try and give as much balance as I can but I know I'm bound to be slightly biased. It's almost like he is being biased the other way. I saw a post where he was asking if Digne should be in a combined 11 based off a couple of bad games. However if we took that stance VvD would have come out last year after they conceded 7. Its got to be based over a period. He seems more interested in bigging up reds players than blues.
