ECHO Comment: "Fears of Witch-hunt Against Liverpool FC" part 3

I’ve noticed their fans are weirdly obsessed with Timo Werner, story on the BBC Sport Facebook page about him potentially leaving Chelsea in Germany and the comments are full of their strange fans saying they’d have him and Klopp would unlock his potential. Why is this, where has this come from? Seems like they’re always the first ones jumping to defend him, is it simply because he’s German and Klopp is German?

I think they were linked with him before he went to Chelsea. Same with Havertz. Tbh Werner looks gash so I would love them to sign him to be honest.

Is that right then about Almiron being allowed to play for Newcastle? What's the point in rules anymore?

So predictable. He’s been a walking PR mouthpiece since he went in there with his ridiculous ‘I’m the normal one’. He knows exactly what he’s doing.

He'd have a bigger gob on if Alexander-Arnold had actually played the two games Walker did.

He’s not wrong, loads are better, but none have the PR machine that Van Dijk does behind them. Look at Varane, by any metric he’s a league above Van Dijk, won more trophies with club and international team, better on the ball, better positionally, quicker. Yet not many have mentioned him joining United whilst Van Dijk wa showing hailed as the best in the world after a couple of games at Liverpool.

Sour grapes. The big rumours that summer were Werner to Mordor. Then Chelsea got him. So it's a way of claiming Werner made the wrong choice.

Normal fans would be "glad we swerved him".
