Like every manager who's been at the club since Moyes - but not once did we have a cult like group of fans desperate for the manager to slip up from the off in order to say I told you so.

I mean reading some of the posts on here it had nothing to do with Benitez yesterday and we only won because Dunc apparently bollocked them in the dressing room and the players just went out and did their own thang.

Switch that round a second and you have all of the benitez cult like yourself, straight in here doing exactly the same. It's one game.

No one wants the manager to lose games.

People just dont want the manager and expect him to fail as hes past his sell by date.

He has an opportunity to prove people wrong.

He started off yesterday with Keane as left centre back and Gray as 10. That is nonsensical and it seems like he hasnt watched Keane at LCB before as its such an obvious error.

The next 5 league games are critical for him.

This whole pro benitez stuff is the cult following...hes not a popular choice at all.

I've done nothing but praise the manager and players for a fantastic display yesterday that had Goodison bouncing 2nd half.

Make no mistake this is still a bang average squad and we'll be lucky to finish above 10th-12th but I fully trust the manager to rebuild the squad over the next 1-2 summers and bring in more fighters and less overpaid strollers which have drained the life out of us these past few years.

He should be finishing 6th or 7th with the squad as it is today.

10th-12th is madness.

You think this is bad, you should of seen the rubbish posted about Carlo and the weird cult following blind worship he got

Swap Carlo for Michael Keane and youre spot on :p

Apparently so Zat.

19 more wins to go for top 4.

When Everton win i'm happy, but jesus starting threads kissing the managers arse, all this well done R a f a bs, gimme a break. As the Roy Keane saying goes, do you congratulate the postman for delivering your mail? I'm just making it clear that this manager, will get credit for eff all off me. So when Everton win it's all on the players, and when Everton lose all blame goes to the manager. It's a fair deal i think. I just want to say this now, so people understand my position going forward.
I see i got a threatening middle finger for this post. Kopite behaviour that is. My stance is my stance, and that's that.

I'd be very surprised if we got anywhere near top 4 mate. I'd say 8th at best with the current squad. If Rodriguez leaves, they've got to find a replacement for his and Gylfi goals and assists.

And lets face it if he wins the next 5 then the next 5 will be critical and so on and so forth as you'll never be happy with him mate you just said it yourself

"I dont want him"
"He's past his sell by date"

The owners will not listen to fans like yourself one bit why should they?

He's got the next 2 seasons to rebuild this squad of overpaid stroller cowards and the fanbase can either get behind the club or moan and deflect everything to suit an agenda on why we need to get rid and appoint Graham Potter or some flavour of the month from Sporting Lisbon who will no doubt have us finishing in the top 4 spending £1.5 million.

You have been calling people insecure in multiple threads etc. So that's not quite true. You are trying to make people feel bad for having a different view by calling them insecure.
Time for the Cult to drop their weapons, stand down and give time to the Rafatollah to rebuild this squad.

It is insecurity if they can't praise the bloke because he's ex Liverpool.

There were young lads on that toffee tv video outside GP saying they still wont back him unless he wins the title with us.

Its petty insecurity/tribalism.

One year of benitez and then the long term exciting project of graham potter.
Leave the running of the club to me. You'll love it.

The difference between Everton and Southampton yesterday was Richarlison & Doucoure
at this point a new manager was a spectator the season is long we shall see
Not true. Benitez did two thing Carlo struggled to do last season. He came back to win a game after scoring first and we had more shots on goal than our opponent.

Benitez has come in and looks to have made a big decision on James, it may just turn out to be the right one. Very early days but i was impressed with the signings yesterday particularly when you consider the cost. Also the turnaround at half time. Positive start

The slight shift in the formation after HT proved effective, as did the Iwobi sub for Townsend after the equaliser. Really liked the way he & Richarlison linked up in that final 30 mins.
