…I don’t disagree with that, but he’ll know he won’t be sold on the cheap. £100m for Grealish who isn’t a starter for England is a reasonable benchmark.

It muddies the waters when we have two people having input and pursuing different player types.

Look at last summer when Ancelottti clearly wanted seasoned pros who play with controlled possession in mind and Brands who bought younger players who are more inclined to use pace and carry the ball as far as they can upfield.

Hard to tell. He looks the real deal, he was brilliant in pre season game but it is a step up from the Championship to the PL and there will be a lot of pressure on him. There is a lot of talk of us buying Cantwell which I would like to happen as he linked very well with Buendia at Norwich and having the two of them would make it easier for them to hit the ground running. But only time will tell. By xmas Villa could be the laughing stock of the PL having blown so much money of crap players or we could be in the top 4 looking like geniuses for selling Jack. I am hoping for somewhere in the middle
