Daniel levy is a maverick though. Nothing would surprise me with him. Probably get some deal that every goal kane scores against spurs they get 5 mill bonus

Think he enjoys his rep. Which is fair enough, he has delivered 95% of what Lewis has had him in place for. But we all know that sport is a cyclical thing; its just that some cycles take longer to turn. There is nothing at Spurs that makes me think anything but their last 10 ish years, (Redknapp to Poch), was their latest upturn.

Spurs have the capacity to go on a good few years of challenging the top four and it’s all down to levy and the business he does. They will smash in a top 4 finish and then flounder around 6th then repeat.

Last year was our really good chance to have a pop at top 4 with the way some of the clubs up near the top where in disarray for the majority of the season.

As a post-pandemic Spurs fan, would there not be a concern that some of the cash would be squirrelled towards stadium cost? Any idea @Yid4life?

There's also the whole Bale legacy where there may be concerns that the money wouldn't be well spent, therefore they'll want to get as much as possible.

I read that we had to spend the Bale money for tax purposes. It reduced the tax implications compared to holding cash.

Turmoil. Ha!

Does it feel like turmoil mate?

You probably don't want to here this, and I know how annoying it will seem but if you can get over 100m for Kane, from the outside that's a big win for Spurs for me. I think Spurs will have probably seen his best years and that will give you considerable opportunity to reinvest.

I also think Nuno might just hit a sweet spot at Spurs. I know a lot are writing you off, but see what he did at Valencia, who were in a similar position and trajectory as where Spurs were at in La LIga when he arrived. First season, often with defensive football he got them 78 points and 4th. It all went a bit downhill after that, but I see no reason why he couldn't emulate that, with probably a big wad of cash next summer to spend as well.

I also think in the system he will want to play, Dominic Calvert Lewin would be absolutely perfect for you as a replacement.

Apart from the Kane thing the rebuilding is going well. Hart out/Gollini in. Lamela out/Gil in. Alderweireld out/Romeo in. Got a few other irons in the fire.

I like DCL although his handbag can stay on Merseyside.

just before people get too carried away with this Daniel Levy is a shrewd businessman remember he paid £30 million for Moussa Sissoko.
Get so tired of this “shred operator” crap. All footballing top people are shrewd. They arent running a bloody hot dog stand they are multi billion pound operations for god sake.

You may end up wishing you still has Alderweireld instead…
