I thought Kurt Zouma would improve us but West Ham looking like they will tie him up.

Leon Bailey, would massively improve our wide options, Villa tying that one up.

Are we trying to sign anyone else? No one can second guess this club, I for one would not have thought they would lower their sights to sign a 30 year old Andros Townsend who will ultimately be bench fodder taking up wages and not helping in terms of FFP. Damarai Gray is a massive gamble as all his old clubs have let him go for next to nothing, you gotta ask why! Could be another player sat on a long contract and strangling any moves in the transfer market. Begovic is back up no matter what he says, bench fodder.

I`m not sure we will see any players that will improve us in this window, it should be clear to everyone we can not spend.

IF Brands fails to get a RB or we have to settle for Kenny then he needs volleying back to the Netherlands, the bloke is useless.....

hard to disagree with any of that tbh

As you say we probably need to move a player out.

I would keep James, but if the club could get say £15m for him this shows as £15m pure profit. If you can spread payments on deals across 3 instalments- that allows you to spent 45m. If you can spread over 4 instalments you can spend 60m. 60m allows us to probably bring in- Dumfries, Nunes and McNeil/Koulibaly (just about). That's the calculation that is probably being done by the club.

I've seen DCL to Spurs linked a bit, and while I think everyone knows my admiration of the lad, we should hope Spurs get as much money as possible for Kane as there is potential to see some coming out way re DCL. If they were to get close to 150m, it's possibly we may get a Lukakuesque 90m ish fee for DCL. Again all profit. Such a fee would allow us to pay down some of the debt, and go on a massive splurge over the next 2 summers.
I would expect Real Madrid to have a clause for a significant chunk of any sell on fee tbh...

We would end of taking Winks and Sissoko of them and signing Danny Ings knowing us

All aboard the transfer train whoot whoot... any news yet? We'll have admitted we are in cahoots with aliens before we make a signing we need come on Brands lad

Do you think our targets have changed since Benitez came in?? Or is Brands in control and working on his pre Benitez targets??
Think I’ve read somewhere that Benitez is a bit like Moyes in that he likes to do his research on potential signings. Could be that he’s put the brakes on some deals?

Here's our transfer train

This the Nunes from Sporting?

He's a box-to-box midfielder so he'd be for that role - allow us to punt Gomes and Delph hopefully - I'd have thought.

I have a feeling Doucoure will be pushed further forward and allowed to bomb ahead making runs into the box to get on the end of Dunny, Dignes or McNeiley's crosses!

Nunes & Allan/Gbamin in the holding roles maybe?
