Just listened to the most recent Royal Blue podcast, and Phil Kirkbride said that the sense he had about Dumfries from talking to people around the club was that the hold-up wasn’t the money but rather that we weren’t yet 100% sold on him as our best option at right back.

Take that for what it’s worth.

Dumfries isnt the answer...Aarons/Emerson make more sense.

Im sure the club has something up their sleeve...

magnificent, he'll be 35 during the final season.

If we are only just figuring out who our best option for rb is now then we are well and truly goosed for transfers

Maybe hes on £60k now and weve offered him an extension on £40k from now or something?

Keeping Coleman for the next 2 years is fine. I don't want him to leave at all. I just want us to sign his replacement before he totally falls off a cliff and it affects how he is viewed by the fans.

We've needed succession planning at right back for 2-3 seasons and good sides don't allow things to drift this long. He is more than capable to start 15-20 games next season if needed, but we cannot rely on him to start 25+
