If Richarlison was sold and replaced by Sarr would people be happy?
Yeah maybe although Sarr would cost 50+ million I'd imagine and we really need to be finding those players before they move to this country. I thought that was the whole point of bringing in Brands?
Richie has been a great servant to the club, he'll go on to be a great player and given his time with us has seen him break into the Brazil team I'm sure he'll always be grateful for Everton taking a massive chance on him but we need to learn when the right time to sell is. Look at Leicester, they buy low, sell high and re-invest into more young talent whilst we cling on to our assets until they drop in value or force their way out. I know it's not that easy but i do think we need to embrace that culture more.

we must be the only club in the world that signs two players in 1 day but just can't be arsed to make an announcement about it

can only assume they are waiting to make a triple announcement once gray passes his medical

Always think that when they don't add the daily paper gossip to the official site that they must be busy on something. Press releases to address twitter rumours maybe, but something.

I know very little about the subject but isn't the rationale around offering a 5 year deal to Iwobi is that his transfer fee is spread over the contract. In other words the cost is 5.6 million in a financial year and not 14 or 9 with a 2 and 3 year contract. This allows the club to buy another player at the same time whereas they may not be able to do so otherwise.

I think that the rationale is potentially sound with younger big money transfers as long as you get the original decision correct. There is probably a market for Iwobi somewhere and whilst there may be an overall loss on the initial transfer fee its possible to post a profit as long as the sale value is more than the value left on the contract. In other words if we get more than 10 million in his final 2 years it will be a profit for the accounts.

Delph doesn't make sense

Yes that is a big part of it of course, you can get the cost down. I do understand that too, but I also think we have to protest ourselves a bit better. Iwobi on a 3+1 deal would have made ample sense to me. This season would be his "last chance saloon" and that feels about right.
