However, if we have Townsend as 4th choice wide player on £50k a week...or backup right wing -- it may enable us to punt out Iwobi, Sigurdsson and Bernard.

Bring in circa £25mil for those three and £300k a week wages..

Weve saved £250k a week and have £25mil towards a starting right winger.

Iwobi , Bernard and siggy are dead wood … you really think adding another log to that pile is going to make it earlier to offload them? They are on twice as much wages as they are worth and that why they won’t move, or rather , why nobody will buy them

The quality needs to be there though, not just bringing in a couple or so players on the cheap.

I think Benitez will get results regardless. But if he doesn;'t and we haven't spent on quality my expectations of his task shift downwards.

just been on the Palace website and they all speak very highly of him. They've had some good players Palace, so if they rate him that's encouraging for a free transfer

please list these “ good” players that palace have had .

Townsend would be a solid buy based on the fact it would stop him playing against us. Let’s get in Dwight McNeil and Callum Wilson whilst we’re at it along with every other game raiser who only turn up twice a season when they see the royal blue.
