Do people forget we've got a world cup finalist centre half or am I missing something?
The few times I saw him at CB he hardly looked assured, he lost his man at the front post a couple of times, once of which he went on to score (I'm not giving specifics i'm not pedantic enough to remember). He also gave the ball away to a Blackpool player with a shoddy pass, who (if he wasn't ****e) wouldve punished us. In other words he hasn't convinced me.
I'd like John to be a good player for us, I just don't think he ever will.

The fact that he is a WC finalist centre half is overrated. He played on an enormously talented team that was on the short list of teams expected to go that far. Are we supposed to not rate Gareth Bale because his team couldn't even qualify for the WC?
Will be all about game-time and creating a partnership. Distin was fairly poor when he turned up, shone in the 2nd season.
Heitinga needs his ego stroking. He knows Moyes would never play him over Jags even if he had a blinder for 3 games.
You slap Jonny in there, tell him he's number 1 centre back now show me what you can do...he'll turn up. He's Dutch...they all need their ego stroking.
And, as said before, we've never looked solid at the back since it was Neville Jags Yobo Lescott playing.
I really don't see Phil Jagielka going to Arsenal. Arsenal don't have money to throw around so they'll wont pay our high prices
Haha.
I think you have a point though. Some people expect CBs to be ace immediately. It takes time to forge partnerships and get used to your role.
Plus I too think you'd see more out of Johnny if you said to him "You're number one" rather than "You're the spare one".

"Arsenal hope to seal a £34million double swoop for Valencia winger Juan Mata and Everton defender Phil Jagielka."

I'd rather stick my wang in a bowl of piranhas than trust the sun, lid.
"Good buys them.
That happens, you'll watch the press doing 180's and saying Arsenal can win the league again.
