I've been to quite a few international games and while I can't say the behaviour is exclusive to England, I would say it's far more prevalent. This is a match they won let's not forget and they still act up instead of being happy. If they lost there might have been a bit more of an excuse. Just a lot of angry young (& possibly old) men.

It is a toxic country, nothing to do with the football though. The toxic, hateful aspect attach themselves to the football in some kind of pathetic justification exercise.

They think that they may just get away with it as is the football culture, unfortunately for them they are thick as. This team is for inclusiveness, they are against this behaviour and are not afraid to say so.

It may take time but they will be alienated and the majority of good natured football fans who just wanna support a bunch of lads kicking a ball around will be the only stories you here....says he of fantasy land.

The thing is, it does sound constant because it is the national side and papers and news outlets know that people will spend the money on these stories rather than 'People go to football game, behave and have a great time'. If you go around the country on any given Sunday you would hear these stories in most towns and cities, you just don't hear the good stuff despite it being in the extreme majority.

It can go either one of two ways, we either speak out about this and try to eradicate it while continuing to support the football teams we like or we say 'you know what I give up, they can have it' and stop supporting them and this includes the club sides.

The case against Julian Assange collapsed a few weeks ago as the main witness (a fraudster and child molester) admitted he had made up the allegations against him at the behest of the US authorities who are still planing to extradite and sentence him to over a hundred years in a US prison under trumped up espionage charges. In a genuinely free and just society it would be front page news.

Ten years this man has spent rotting behind bars and most British citizens do not even know who he is while outlets like The Guardian (which portrays itself as the last bastion of Journalistic independence and democratic liberal values) have alternately smeared or ignored him.

Assange’s only real crime was blowing the whistle on US war crimes (go watch the videos- systematic murder of men woman and children) in Iraq and elsewhere and not one word of this most recent development has been reported in the (so called) left or right wing press who instead carry out hard hitting investigations into grown men making rude hand gestures and booing inappropriately.
