If England win the tournament it will be on the back of 6 out of 7 games played at Wembley. No other team had that advantage. And forget about the defence that teams play host in every tournament:

1/ even then they have to move out of their own capital city and not have a continuous home base.
2/ this tournament was billed as a moveable feast and promoted itself as different with no team having any overall advanatage. It hasn't turned out that way for England who have been THE host nation.

I dont see them beating both Denmark and Spain / Italy back-to-back. But if they did they wouldn;t be legitimate champions....we'd have said that if Germany or Italy or Spain had that advanatage, you know we would.

The tournament structure has been rigged.

Semi finals being at Wembley absolutely stinks, I'm not sure why it's planned this way but it should be neutral for both teams.

UEFA have been that desperate to jst get this delayed event out of the way they went with a structure that delegitimises it.

The usual format sees host countries play all their games in their own country. As do World Cups etc

Fail to see the issue myself
As I said above: even hosts have to move out of their home ground to the provinces. Also, England are NOT the host country; London is a host city amongst others.

I seem to recall this was the consolation prize for England on account of them being "next" to host the competition.
Then UEFA decided to spread the comp Europe wide. In other words a bit of a sweetener.

It is A host country.
As are others.
Suck it up Dave, spend your time wisely getting yourself positioned for your backing of the Spanish fella during what will be an interesting season ahead

Surprised they didn't say 'well done Maguire and Stones for being a part of that' followed by 'despite the efforts of Pickford'.
Pickford has been excellent, with big saves against Scotland and Germany when they needed to be made.

England, as expected, brushed aside that pub team last night. I said it was an effective bye to the semis, and so it proved, with England doing what all good sides do: swiftly brush aside inferior opposition.

As an Irishman, it pains me to say it but England are playing well and doing everything required of them. They have all the advantages in this tournament, but all they can do is maximise those, and they have so far. Denmark will be a very dangerous opponent now. Yes, if England play well they should get through, but the Danes are well capable of winning this - unlike Ukraine. Nevertheless, my feeling is that this is as good a set of circumstances England could ever have hoped for. Home matches at Wembley against a second tier European nation and a potential final against a top tier nation that is not at the top of its curve. It's definitely there to be won.

Can always rely on you to pour cold water over it, Dave
