Apart from being RS, viewed objectively Benitez has always struck me as a nasty and selfish man.
Blue Bill is supposed to be a proper gent and not much liked on here.

SAF was a bully and exerted psychological control bordering abuse on young players. But he won Euro trophies with Aber bloody deen.

Fat Raf seems to do an awful lot of work for charity.

Couldnt care less if the new manager was Genges Khan, I would love to see us winning something in the next few years.

So being a nice guy dont really cut the mustard for me. Bobby and Sillva were the bees knees etc etc etc

Looking at it is different way it smacks of an owner making a decision based on risk.

I think he’s seen Koeman practically destroy the club getting us into a relegation battle, then Silva showing how easily we could slip back into it. Last season was probably a wake up call, one of the best managers ever (on paper) and we finished tenth.

The priority for Moshiri has to be that we stay in the premier league for the new stadium. He cannot afford to give this job to the likes of Potter. Look at the players ffs, they’ll down tools on any manager and throw us back into trouble in a second. People keep saying that with a bit of management they can be better but they’ve shown under different managers that the same old suspects are complete and utter rubbish and sadly they’re the spine of the team Keane Coleman Davies Siggurdson Gomes.

From my point of view he’s gone for a manager that he thinks will guarantee we stay in the league regardless of what the fans think. That’s probably why Moyes and Nuno were in the running also.

The fan base wants a manager that will take these crap players and have us playing attacking football and gatecrashing the top 4.

The board are probably looking for a manager that will keep us in the league as we move to a new stadium, flush out the rubbish from the squad, and try and push for europe.
Best post on this whole thread, completely agree. Voice of reason award to you tonight.

A bit of realism please. I don't want him , and I am not singling you out as I know many share your opinion, however there isn't the slightest chance of relegation.
There are plenty of teams that probably thought being in the top half meant they were established PL teams, Stoke, Watford, Sheffield United, Bournemouth, Middlesbrough, Blackburn, Leeds, Swansea, Sunderland, Ipswich, Wigan, Portsmouth, Coventry, Derby, Forest. Some with trophies, some with shiny new grounds, some with fantastic histories and some with decent players and a bit of money. No-one is safe.

That’s great but Benitez isn’t a winner either recently so he fails there as well.

The manager hunt, to the tune of Amy Winehouse's "Rehab"

They try to sign a manager like Nu, Nu-no
Yes he's been sacked, but was he backed? Nu, nu-no
His football is a crime, but if Moshiri thinks that's fine...
They tried to make me go to matches, but I won't go, go, go

I'd rather Big Dunc and the boys
I ain't got time for David Moyes
'Cause there's no way, there's no way you can stop me
From practicing a booing noise

He doesn't have much class
And we know we'd end up coming last

They tried to make a move for Rafael and I say "No, hell no"
Yes he's won stuff, I'm calling your bluff, hell no, no, no
He's no manager of mine, but if Kenwright thinks that's fine...
They tried to make me go to matches, but I won't go, go, go

The fans said "What's the thinking here?"
I said "I got no idea"
I'm gonna, I'm gonna lose my ****
Cause Rafael's a fat ******* ***

They talking about a move for Roberto, but I said "oh god no"
The first season was fine, but let's draw a line, you know know know
We'll go on the decline, but if Marcel thinks that's fine...
They tried to make me go to matches, but I won't go, go, go

Now we practically know it is Rafael, can we have a count of those who say they will cease supporting Everton? (1) match ticket holders and (2) online supporters only. No lying please.
My prediction is (1) nil and (2) 10 or more but who cares?
Agree entirely mate

So if they are taking on a manager to keep us up then I despair, why not go the whole hog and give Sam a whole season rather than ring him up in December when Rafael is being hounded out by the fans.
