I have never been convinced about this new stadium malarkey. What makes GP such a perfect stadium for Everton is the large number of seats that have obstructed views. Unless the new stadium can promise at least an equal number (proportionally) of blocked view seats ( or, ideally, more), I just cannot see punters being keen to go.
I guess a large concourse area would work but you would have to ensure there is no TVs etc, as people will be in there to escape from the spectacle.
Me? my solution is waaaay cheaper. Stay at GP and just put in a lot more obstructions...those seats will be very popular. You sit there, you get all the atmosphere, but you don’t get the eye-bleed
