You know what, as our last 5 full-time managers since Moyes have all been relatively short-term who have come to the club with a mixture of experiences, styles and philosophies, of which none of have given us any real success, I’m actually starting to think “sod it, let Duncan have a go for a couple of years and see what he can do.”
Yes, it may end up a spectacular failure, but I’m at the point now I just really don’t care, literally everything else has proven not to work at this basket-case of a club, maybe we need someone like him to grab the players by the balls and tell them what’s what. I know he’s been involved in the background throughout during all the previous managers, but maybe, just maybe, him being the main man will start a much needed shift in attitude.
Let Brands fully take over the overall technical and business side of things, and let Ferguson do his thing on the training ground and for 90 minutes a week on the side-lines.
