I dont share peoples obsession with pace.

We need to improve the tempo, you can do without pacey players.
For me it depends how we plan on playing. Pace is very important if we plan on being a counter attacking side. You don’t need to be Usain Bolt, but you can’t be Slowfy Sluggurdsson either. For instance, two James Rodriguez’s as your wingers would not be ideal (despite how good he is).

But fast players can run into space quicker which means you can get your passes off sooner? Also a player that can pick the ball up and advance us 30 yards up the pitch without us having to play 12 passes to get to the same spot, would come in very useful.

Even that would be an improvement, we tend to be 10 yards behind where we started

You know whos really fast? Adama Traore, you know whos really useless at creating chances? Adama Troare.

The best players have pace and technique.

Adama Traore has pace and no technique.

Most of our players have neither which is the problem.

No one wants to buy a headless chicken who runs quickly but equally a team of slow tricky players can get dominated by a team that presses well.

We need a team that can play with the ball and also get it back when they lose it. We struggle to do both due to the profile of players in the squad which is why Carlo has to set us up the way he does for us to get any points whatsoever.

I think Adama Traore shows that despite having literally zero end product, Being lighting quick and having baby oil on your arms can still present a threat and create chances, He went past 3 of our players like they weren't there and then hit a shot at the strength of a pensioner.
Pace is important in the modern game, You don't need it everywhere but we don't have it apart from Dom??? Richy isn't a slouch but he's not lightning either.

According to the Echo, Carlo has said what we need is:

“The profile is a winger that is able to score goals, is able to defend, that is able to sacrifice, that is able to put crosses in.

"This kind of player is not easy to find! But if you look at the market and the players around the world, there are really a lot of good players around the world."

Can he make the tea and pull pints at half time too?
Suppose it depends on what formation we play next season but if it’s 442 - do we not need to sign two wide midfield/wingers? We shift Walcott, Bolasie and hopefully Bernard and Iwobi move on. Need someone for the left and right.

Godfrey DCL Richarlison have the pace...a couple more quick players needed.

We want pace sign a contract extension for Theo Walcott. For me it's not about pace rather than just not wanting a sloth on the field.

I thought most wingers have pace the problem is we have aged and inept(iwobi) attacking midfielders playing on the wings.
