Allan: 0 goals
Gomes: 0 goals
Davies: 0 goals
Doucoure: 3 goals
Delph: 0 goals
Gbamin*: 0 goals

All but one of our 'traditional' CM's are yet to score this season. That's a combined 126 games in all competitions and just 3 goals.

It's not like many of them have even missed many chances. They don't show any determination to get on the end of anything.

At some point our DOF might stop targetting midfielders who offer zero goal threat.

6 in the league in total
I think the formation needs to change. They basically had the same problem we're having. When their front 3 had a bad patch, they couldn't score and plumetted down the league like a stone.

Our formation will only work if we have a world class front 3, or decent enough subs that can challenge them when they go through a bad spell. Until we get those players, I'd rather revert to 442 or 451.

We need more goals from midfield BUT I would consider only Doucoure a goal threat from all those players anyway.

Allan, Davies, Delph and Gbamin are defensive midfielders. Gomes top goal tally is like 4 as "classic" number 8. Doucoure being the most attacking - and with the most goals - needs more.

We need to sign less defensive mids if we want more goals from them.

The thing with Doucoure is, he should be used to get into the box as a third-man runner (his goals this season prove that).

He's not great on the ball, so it's so frustrating to see him collecting the ball off the defence (because nobody else is doing it maybe). Literally all he should be doing is winning it back, popping it off, and driving forward into space. That's what he's good at and with our quality (loosely) out wide in Digne, James even Gylfi etc, we should be able to get him into those positions.

As much as it's on the individual players to take the initiative, I can't help but feel it's again showing up Carlo to be a bit clueless with how to get the best out of what limited options we have in that department. Doucoure has spent as much time at right-back this season as he has attacking midfield.

I don’t like the fact we’re taking a Chelsea player on loan, that’s not ready for them. So he comes and learns at Everton and any mistakes costs us.

It’s clubs like Norwich or West Brom/Newcastle who have Arsenal youngsters on loan. We shouldn’t be doing it. We’re trying to challenge Chelsea.
would Spurs or Arsenal take Gilmore or even Leicester
If Chelsea arent prepared to sell him, and he came here, played and done well then he would have a decision to make on where his future lies.
Chelsea take him back and either start using him or deflate him even further by not playing him after he got used to game time for us.
Whether Arsenal, Spurs or Leicester would take him should make no difference to us. For a relatively low sum on a transfer, or we pay a small loan fee and cover his tiny wages on a loan, if he improves our team/squad then brilliant.
Im sure you wouldnt have turned your nose up at Foden on loan last summer.

There’s no way we or anyone was getting foden last summer be serious.

And again we are helping Chelsea out with a youngster. The teams that loan from the so called big 6 are your promoted teams or your struggling sides with no money. Ie Everton under Moyes and kenwright. And we were seen as punching above our weight. When we finished 7th little old Everton

It’s a win win for Chelsea. He does well and they take him back or set his fee at something ridiculous. He fails, he goes back abs they loan him the following season.

If we’re serious about challenging and trying to break into the top 4. You don’t loan an 18yr old from Chelsea. Ancelotti on 11mil a year and we give him a kid from Chelsea. What’s the point
