If he can't sell the junk he signed then you really have to question his judgment in the first place.

He can't sell players. He can't pick a player of any quality unless the manager picks them out personally for him.

What good is he actually?

I don't mean this as a defense of Brands dealings but it is incredibly hard when you're supposed to be in charge of revamping the club and then those above you bring in a manager who you then have to bow to as far as strategy goes. I can't see Brands doing Doucoure, Allan AND James in one window if he's given real control over it. Carlo wanted Europe now and Brands was obligated to get it for him against what he wanted to do.

Likewise Brands was hired after Silva so whatever vision he had probably wasn't fully aligned with Marco's. These types of things make it harder when the club is pretty crap at recruitment and development to start with. And we certainly haven't learned as most will expect a turnaround to Europe again next year instead of accepting it'll take time. I include Moshiri and Carlo in that group.

The RS can sell players who have never kicked a ball for them for 15-20 million each year and our super DOF has only managed to get money back for Idrissa Gueye.

This is about to happen for us with Kean because he's 21. Yes we don't sell players who are 28 and bad for a profit. They don't either. It is why Divock Origi stays around forever.

They have probably got a clause in their contract that states can't be given away even if crap as it could harm reputation

Well of course this still requires you to accept Allan and Doucoure are good players which going off the midfield being inept against a championship quality side yesterday I struggle to do. I like Allan but it wasn't the right player at the right time. Doucoure is straight up garbo.

It’s mad this idea we are sat on the golden egg that is Kean. He was literally garbage for us but seems to have done decent for PSG. We’d be lucky to get our money back for him.

Carlo hasn't 'sabotaged' Iwobi's career. Iwobi isn't very good. Whether he's playing central, or left or right, he isn't really what we need.
