Let's hope Brentford don't come up then we can have a few of their players on the cheap. Very good team them. Still want Aarons too, but probably too expensive.

I wouldn't take any players at all from any of the relegated teams.

Reuben Loftus Cheek waltzes into our midfield. Excellent player. Should we be aiming higher ? Absolutely however we are where we are, which won’t be very attractive. But he is infinitely better than Gomes in terms of what he could offer, Iwobi and Bernard also and he would provide a measure of cover for Doucoure. He would be an astute investment.
He’s already on £150k a week is Cheek.

We would have to improve on that I’d imagine, so it’s a no from me given his injuries.

Not sure about that, he's got skill but he's never been trusted to play central midfield and he's definitely not a good enough attacking mid/winger.

What I don't want to see is players approaching the end of their careers joining us.
Maybe getting a couple of seasons out of them. No point.

Look at the 7 teams above us right now. They all had better players sitting on the bench than we had in our first 11 against Villa.
The players on our bench and some of our starting 11 wouldn't get on the bench at those teams.
Subjective of course. Pick bones in that, that is what you do.

Basically our squad is faeces. CA inherited a bad squad and has made 4 significant signings to improve it.
Still means there is a long way to go.

I'd definitely rather go for Anguissa than Berge. I like Areola. He's better than Pickford easily.
I’m not sure. Pickford looked much better for Sunderland because he faced so much more and could always blame a crap back line. This lad is the same. If he was really a top keeper he’d have nailed down a spot somewhere decent and not on his 40th loan from PSG to Fulham, one of the worst teams in the league.

Players at the end of their careers are fine and do great for a squad, it’s just singing them at that point is obviously a bad idea like you said.

If we had an actual full strength decent squad having the likes of Coleman and Gylfi around who are coming to the end and James who’s done it all and is not quite near the end but winding down would be vital to a squad.

It’s why Fernandinho can still play fantastically for City, younger talent around him can carry the weight and he can show it in the big games when they need experience.

Instead if you look at us 3 of our best players this season has probably been the 3 I’ve mentioned as well as Dom. They’ve all been run into the ground because no one else is doing it, Dom recovers better because he’s younger. In our squad is not those that are the problem it’s the lads like Iwobi in their mid twenties who offer nothing, are getting paid massive wages with 3 years left on the contacts and have either negative resale value or no resale value.

I get that sentiment but I don't think he was ever bad for any of those teams, just that you'll lose your job to guys like Navas and Courtois because they're among the very best.

I see we're linked with Zirkzee again in a half arsed way.

Funny how his time at Parma has gone. 4 appearances, 108 minutes then did his cruciates. Some going to be more of pointless signing than King but he's somehow managed it.
I was delighted when we avoided signing him. It was always destined to be a failure.

I wouldn’t mind if ancelotti next season, had 3 hard workers in the midfield to bully the opposition run all day and stop them playing and protect to the 2 centre backs.

Allan, Doucoure. And another, with Gbamin and Davies should be enough. And just attack teams through the full backs and a front 3. We would need 2 new attackers as well.

Been saying this for months now. Would have liked to have picked up Hojbjerg last summer as well, but this would be better. We don't need to score from the middle third. We just need to win it. Attack up the flanks all day, counterattack with pace alternating the ball through the center and up the flanks.

It results in a lot of ugly 0-0s, 1-0s, 1-1s and 2-1s, but those are the points separating us from Leicester and Chelsea at the moment.
