Well, probably, but we have been every time we think about next season around this time for the past eight seasons.
Other clubs see light at the end of the tunnel. We just learn to love the tunnel.

The tunnel of love is a wonderful place.

I actually think our first 11 are good enough to get us into Europe (Europa League). Problem is at least one of them is frequently broken and our cover is severely lacking. Going from James to Iwobi, or from Doucoure to Davies hurts. It is exacerbated when we have multiple injuries, which is frequent

To me we need:
a new physio (I jest......sort of)
a new starting caliber RB
a new starting caliber CM
a RW/AM that can play when James is hurt/can't be bothered. A Buendia or even Matheus Pereira type
a backup ST

Those are a must. Then some depth with folks like that Sarr or Olise

Finally if a chance for a Koulibaly comes then we should absolutely pursue.

Looks like more Evertonians fell in love with Coutinho because he hit a couple long rangers in after six hundred plus attempts than I thought.

Would be risky. Those defenders were shocking and he wouldn't get a fraction of the time he had for most of those goals in the premier League.
