I love this post! Well said, Dave.PMSL at that Atheltic piece today by Simon Hughes on "Two Liverpool Football Clubs": the one run this side of the Atlantic (local and 'noble') and the other from Boston. It lays into FSGs venture capitalist style of management and the aloofness of the finance men from reality.
"President Mike Gordon is supposed to be the conduit between Boston and Liverpool. Yet in his conversations last week with disappointed high-level, Merseyside-based officials, he was told by more than one person that FSG would never have contemplated attempting to pull off such a move if one of them lived within driving distance of Anfield. As Peter Moore learned in 2017, closer geographical ties increase your chances of knowing exactly what the score is."
An attempt to try and shake off some of the shame of the Scab Club by implying the essence of LFC was tampered with: a club that's now at the mercy of a corporate mentality.
FFS, they were created 130 odd years ago by Tories determined to exploit football for cash; they are - and always have been -mammon through and through. THAT is their 'essence'.
Try again journos. It isn't washing.
They should be referred to as the Stupid Six.View attachment 125908
The striking thing about this, is not only how out of hand salaries have become, but when you compare Liverpool with Man City.
The salary spend is almost the same.
But now compare their squads. City have enough quality players to have 2 teams in the Top 4, their bench every week is frightening.
Liverpool have 11 players....they've practically fallen apart this season after 1 defender passed away. They have no depth in their squad.
So how the hell are they so close in total salary spend than City are?.
Thats reckless, and equally funny....
And, Ofcourse Klopp doesn't spend money lol
They are trying themselves in knots here to try and justify behaviour.PMSL at that Atheltic piece today by Simon Hughes on "Two Liverpool Football Clubs": the one run this side of the Atlantic (local and 'noble') and the other from Boston. We need United to win to stretch Liverpools chances of EuropeIf the RS and city game goes ahead, if the RS win do city win the league? Actually wouldn't mind that happening so they never got there trophy parade lol, maybe a draw
I think he was going to spit at themCarra's face when he sees a bunch of angry United fans storm the pitch is priceless
