We are at the mercy of players who generally aren't bothered about losing.

We have a manager who has no business managing such a group of players.

It's all very well expecting him to turn into Walter Smith and get Davide to strut into the dressing room with a baseball bat but that isn't happening.

Let's see him get the players in that he knows will improve us.

'could've, would've, should've'...another* motto to replace nils satis nisi optimum.

*along with : (1) 'Everton that' ...and (2) 'disappointing, but unsurprising'

Im all for giving him time but do we honestly think we will sign the players we all think he needs? He loves Sigurdsson, plays Gomes whenever he's fit and has shoehorned Delph back into the side soon as he was fit.

Im honestly just bored of watching us - turned off at Half Time same as I did against Arsenal and dont think I bothered watching the Brighton 0-0 at all.

Its just absolute dross at the moment - im not having that we can go from playing how we did at the seasons start to how we have been when the only players missing from that side yesterday in terms of the midfield/attack were Doucoure and James.

The tactics/system have changed and its horrendous watching. I know its a results business but the problem for Carlo is when fans are back the turgid football is only accepted when we are getting the wins - its games like yesterday where he'll be hammered.

Really is no hiding places or excuses next season. He's been here 18 months now we need to start seeing something.

Im still astonished Brands who's been here 3 yrs overseeing a poor recruitment policy and nothing coming from the academy was rewarded for an average job.

There is zero expectation at the club and you see it on the pitch every week with those dross performances.

In 2018/19 we finished 16 points from Europe. 17 points from 4th
In 2019/20 we finished 13 points from Europe. 17 points from 4th.

We're currently 3 points from Europe. 9 points (+ game in hand) from 4th.

As much as we can lament the clear missed opportunities, and fume at the pitiful attitude of players (as Ancelotti has after Newcastle, West Ham, Villa) and woeful home - let's try and look at the bigger picture.

This team isn't good enough. There's no depth - if there's an injury, or we need something extra - we have Iwobi, Delph, Bernard, King and co.

Take this example;

Ancelotti spotted the obvious, we had no midfield. His first window, he brought in Doucoure, Allan, Rodriguez and Godfrey.

Unfortunately, Allan had a lengthy spell out and isn't back to 100%, Doucoure's missing a key period and Rodriguez is the very definition of a luxury player.

Last night we had 2 Ancelotti signings on the pitch;

Everton: Pickford (8), Coleman (7), Digne (6), Godfrey (6), Holgate (5), Allan (7), Gomes (5), Sigurdsson (6), Iwobi (5), Richarlison (5), Calvert-Lewin (7).

Subs: Delph (5), King (n/a), Bernard (n/a).

Subs: Delph, King and Bernard says it all.

Rodriguez gets a knock, who do we have to turn to? Iwobi!

Ancelotti needs time, when more than half the team are 'his' players, then you can judge. His credentials in the game should see the fanbase afford him that time without pissing the bed so quickly.

There's been a lot of positives this season too;

Calvert-Lewin's improvement.
The season having some purpose towards it's conclusion.
First win at Arsenal since 1996.
First win at Liverpool since 1999.
First win at Spurs since 2008.

Sure, we can be frustrated and disappointed but let's not be nob-heads - let's not fall into the trap of allowing these players to hide behind the manager. One of the most successful managers in world football, having won 20 trophies including league titles in four different countries and the Champions League three times.

The person being scrutinised should be the DOF and those who just felt it appropriate to award him a new 3 year contract. The fact we are so poor after spending so much, is not acceptable and recruitment is an issue for the DOF.

The squad and players are the problem and we dont improve until a large proportion of them are moved on. They pick and choose when to turn up and have a abysmal mentality when there is something on the line. They will eventually get Ancelotti the sack too if they are not replaced ASAP.

The main concern is Ancelotti deciding he's had enough and moving on because these players are completely unreliable and not good enough. Back him fully this summer or we are going back not forwards again.

Pin this. That table at the end should be evidence enough.

All the clowns calling for the manager need to understand something. You do not represent our fanbase as a whole, your opinions only represent a tiny section of our fanbase. Actually you represent less then that, you represent a tiny section of our online fanbase which is itself a tiny section of our actual real fanbase. You know what that means? It means that nobody at the club will ever listen to anything you have to say and will never care what you have to say even if they do hear some of your deranged nonsense. Do you seriously think that anyone in a position of power at the club will ever listen to people like you lot?! You get laughed at on here ffs! :hayee:

Siggurdson is out of any Carlo lineup when he has enough players fit. He didn’t start the season. If Allan Docuoure James are all fit Siggurdson isn’t in the first 11.

Delph hasn’t started a game under Carlo since Newcastle away and that was due to injury to others. At the start of the season he was nowhere near the team. He still didn’t start yesterday.

Gomes and Davies get rotated info about of whoever is less crap at the time. I don’t think Carlo is sold on any of them. There’s simply no one else though.

This summer will tell, if gomez delf and iwobi to name 3, are still here then I will loose faith in him. Over 18 months to sort the deadwood, holgate and Davies are squad players at best. We have money,we have the fans and a stadium on the way. Now show us you are this world class manager, please

He’s not helping himself by choosing to play some of these players consistently though. There was absolutely no reason for Holgate and Gomes to play ahead of Mina and Davies yesterday. There was no reason to bring Delph back into the fold, a man who’s been actively avoiding playing for us for the last 6 months. And Richarlison should be dropped for King next week. He needs to start standing up to these pathetic gobshites.

Delph last start was Burnley before Christmas. He broke down after about 20 mins...

No one represents our fanbase as a whole - your opinion is as valid as mine or anyone elses.

Ultimately the only opinions that matter are the owners however what I will say is ours is a very reactionary one and if the fans start to turn at Goodison if this form/performances continue into next season then Carlo will be under pressure/scrutiny make no mistake.

People forget Moshiri's main reason for appointing Carlo was as follows:

“I think Everton is a very, very difficult job in football because you are two home losses from being disowned by fans. I think it’s very hard, so what we’ve noticed is that it’s difficult to cope for younger managers. You have the bad runs, but I think the fans didn’t give them any time.

“The strength of Goodison is the passion of the fans and once you lose that, you lose a lot."

But your getting laughed at for accepting mid table and crap and boring football.
