Im not denying DCL is a decent player - im arguing if anyone offers near £80 million which is elite player money you kin snap their hands off.

Its like having a nice 200k house and someone offering 300k and turning it down because you're worried about finding another house to live in.

Fact is under 1-0 specialist Carlo you could stick Patrick Bamford up top for us and our threat at goal isn't diminished. Those first 2-3 months of the season aside DCL has been average.
It’s not though, is it

Yeah and I'm saying that selling him and Kean to get Ings and Belotti plus 70m "book profit" would be a footballing disaster.

No it wouldn't man - Ings feeding off James would bang 15+ goals a season which is exactly what DCL is doing and Belotti is much more suited to this league than the mopey kid who looked pish against lower league opposition.

Belotti is coming from Italy too! It's the exact same problem.

Ings is a good player who like James we'd be lucky to get 30 games from. On that basis it is a terrible idea.

Selling DCL to buy Ings is like selling your 5 bedroom house to buy a campervan to go live with Gypos.

No it isnt if we then have the dough to bring 2x top class CM players, 1x RW who can contribute with 10+ goals a season, a monster CB to partner Godfrey long term and a pacey RB.

If someone is stupid enough to offer us over £120 millions combined for Kean and DCL snap their hands off and rebuild the squad.

Ah the Lukaku.

It worked great last time tbf.

Ah the Coutinho.

We can all play that game.

Oh and Lukaku is five times the CF either of them pair will ever be...
So what you're saying is we should sell one of our 5 or so good players so we can buy a bunch of good players even though most the time the players we sign don't end up being good players?

Yeah I'm sure nothing could go wrong.

I wouldn't actively be trying to sell him but if someone offers us £80+ million then 100% I would sell any of our players for that kind of money as none of them are world class its as simple as that. Not one is irreplaceable if our recruitment is done right.

Lukaku WAS irreplaceable
Rooney WAS irreplaceable

Thats the difference.

You over rate our players - Harry Maguire was probably one of Leicester's "top 5" players yet £85 millions thank you very much Man Utd.

I assure you I am not overrating our players.

But the last two times we sold a key player it WRECKED our season the next term. I don't care if you think DCL isn't to the level of Rom or Gana, I don't either, he's important enough that not replacing him would have a similar effect.
