Champions League revamp

People cheering teams leaving the ESL like the clubs leaving are somehow moral saviours for backing out at the last minute. Shocking

Chelsea fans beaming praising their club and Abramovich thinking this is all happening because of them. Fickle memories, their "club" and "owner" just 48 hours ago betrayed them and the entirety of English football for some extra money to line his pocket.

No praise for any of the lot of them. They're walking back with the tail between their legs and should face HUGE sanctions both in PL and Europe for what they've attempted to do over the past few days.

This was an attempted coup and the power of football fans has shined brightly in the end.

They totally underestimated the uproar, now they are going have to live with the consequences of their betrayal and I sure hope the punishment is harsh. These 12 clubs deserve nothing but be shamed for their greed.

They shouldn't have, it wasn't 5 minutes ago since their last plan was shot to pieces, memory of a goldfish else. They just thought safety in numbers as long as they all stick together. HAHAHA.

My mate (RS) text me saying none of the clubs should be punished because it's unfair on the fans, staff and players etc.

Whilst I agree it's unfair on them something has to be done otherwise they'll just try again.
Tell him, it’s a pity, but, it has to happen. It will be for the good of the game and he’s a worthy sacrifice.

Forever to be known as the Slimy 6 and reputation and respect damaged for the foreseeable future. Hopefully the PL will inflict a fitting punishment on them all for their slimy behaviour although i will believe that when i see it. Probably give them some lines or something.

Well done to Everton for getting the ball rolling this morning with the very classy statements which where well received by the whole footballing nation. Made a lot of friends today and exposed a lot of slime.

Having a closed shop cartel organised at the expense of the "legacy fans" against the fundamental competitiveness of the game seems more unfair. Send them to the conference today.

If the ESL goes ahead (I don't think it will btw), then they have to expel all 6 teams. Allowing ESL teams to stay in a devalued and largely meaningless PL is worse than taking the financial hit to put them out. The financial hit is enormous either way if this league starts so you have to keep your dignity and accept the hurt.

Until that point though, there will be posturing but not much in the way of punishments from the PL. It will be points deductions at worst, and expelling them is the very last resort way down the line.
This is what I and many others are struggling to grasp......what would be the actual point in them continuing to play in the PL?
