Champions League revamp

What drugs are they on that they haven't had meetings with players and managers to see if they are onside. This is batshid crazy. They have it all set up yet the players, managers and fans are all against it. By far the weirdest period in football history.

This happens when you think that your team is just a business company.
If you think that your players and managers are just products to sell you don't feel the need to inform them on your decisions.

... and now he's gone off on one about absolutely nothing.

I think he was just suggesting if a big club has a big player injured, then cup competitions should be re-scheduled.

Which is... bonkers.
Think his point was about the condensee nature of the league forcing multiple games a week and UEFA insisted on intl friendlies. This led to Lewandowskis injury.

Pep now proceeding to drive the knife into UEFA here. Interesting development.

a similar to theme to Klopp last night. They have both questioned the ESL, relatively softly; but gone in on UEFA and how nothing changes no matter how much they speak out.

The Lewondowski example was excellent - takes the "poor us" discussion out of it

Bit of both from Pep there.

Skirted around the issue using the excuse (which I think will be true, btw) that he doesn't know the details.

It's clear the managers are in the dark on this but ultimately they're the spokespeople for their clubs.

Board member of one of the clubs saying don’t expect us to back down. That club need sanctions ASAP. Acting like they can do whatever pleases them.

Of course it will - the 14 clubs are turkeys voting for Xmas. Look at the Bundesliga for the future of the PL - Bayern (Utd/City) dominating for eternity but its sound as 51% of Everton is owned by fans who havent a pot to pee in and tickets are only 20 quid.

We want better than to just make up the numbers hence why we should be welcoming the big 6 leaving but we wont as the gravy train is all that matters.
Bayern are like that because they are a tremendously ran club, always have been whilst their biggest rivals fell off due to years of mismanagement which is only really being rectified recently.

Klopp and Pep’s response both boiled down to ‘I’m against the plans in theory, but I support rhe club, therefore stop criticising us, now look over there at that other thing as a distraction’

No doubt they’ve been advised on what they can or can’t say by their employers and they’ve both toed the line.

If they don’t like the super league once they know it’s happening they should resign.

Because those 6 clubs play significantly more in the Premier League.

Anyone who thinks for one moment the TV deal would be anywhere near what it is without the audience's those 6 clubs bring are very, very wrong.

Yeah but the ESL or SL as it will no doubt eventually be called, will be on Disney, which is quite appropriate really....they have really just created a worldwide franchise like American Football...next comes the relocation and leave the ‘legacy fans’ behind.....

I know some of us like to laugh at clips of him from his Watch-Alongs when Man U lose, but Mark Goldbridge has been putting out some really good content over the last couple of days. Decent watch for another club’s perspective

He is decent when he's not crying over results.

I'd say Pep's gone a bit further today.

He's right to point out UEFA's flaws, but not right to use it as a distraction.

The best person of a club directly involved in it to speak on it so far was Milner, because he said what he felt, clearly.
