Wow. I'm genuinely shocked they're going through with it. Disgusting.

The Premier League, Uefa, and FIFA need to band together and wallop them with whatever powers they have.

Matter of time letting the Yanks into ownership before they looked to remove the risk from their investments and create a franchise league.

They'll keep their foreign glory hunters but I hope the local club support turn their backs on these clubs. They won't represent the city as anything more than using it's established brand value. Those communities will mean nothing to those clubs. Every fan will have to be a millionaire to travel over Europe to "support" their chosen franchise.

Makes me laugh when people say PL clubs will fold without tv revenues etc. Football won’t just die, it’s a pitch goalposts a ball and 22 players. Players might have to start being paid a lot lot less, but clubs in England outside the big six aren’t just going to disappear because broadcast revenues might decrease.

If that happened the TV dealings would have to change. No neutral is paying huge money to Sky and BT for those games, that’s just the reality of the situation. The model would probably move to a subscription service which would be better for the punter, but definitely bring in less money for the clubs.

Obviously the match day experience would be fine, except perhaps the quality on display would be less as less tv money= less money for higher quality players. Even if you have a wealthy owner you’d be relying on them sinking their own money into a business which suddenly wasn’t as lucrative as it once was.

What’s going on with Newcastle fans having a pop at Everton over their supposed involvement in this super league business. These clubs being chosen are not top clubs though. It’s an absolute farce.
What’s Newcastle fan’s problem though? I assume we would have been sounded out before now anyway? I hope we told them to do one if so. We have more class than all those clubs put together!
When this thing reared it’s ugly head before it was suggested that we would be invited as part f a top 8.

I think the issue is that clubs currently in the Premier league will struggle. Could go bust. There will always be teams to take their place though. Think we'd be OK with an oligarchs accountant at the helm. The whole game has gone mad. Us included.

It would be a financial reset of the whole game, but the game would still exist. Majority of the cost base of clubs is player and manager wages, they’d be slashed.

I honestly think it would be the best thing to happen for football for ages. I'm fed up of the big 6. They are nothing different than 6 other English clubs so what makes them so entitled.

Get rid of them and have a fair English competition with all on a level playing field with fair rules. I wouldn't even care if this so called super league did attract better players, I would just be happy to watch an actual proper competition again. It would do wonders in the Spanish and Italian leagues too with the unfair money and advantage the top teams get there currently
